Vonbit

"Vonbit" is an extremely badly made ripoff of Space Invaders that somehow has even worse graphics. Some odd trivia; game design itself is something that is covered by copyright, and previous case law and precedent shows these intellectual property rights can be legally enforced. I wonder if Taito will sue or send a DMCA takedown. I hope they do. What do you do in the game? It's Space Invaders but worse. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Slick presentation. Each level increases the enemy count and coupled with their high fire-rate it doesn't take long for the game to descend into chaos. Success at higher levels is bit too dependant on good luck with power-up drops, otherwise a fun little game

It's space invaders

Not great, but actually not bad either. Just some Space Invaders clone with a retro feeling, but still less retro than the original one. Since Vonbit is a free game you can spend a few minutes playing it, that much you won't regret, and you might actually find it quite fun to play.
