Vysions

An esoteric but mostly fair game. I didn't encounter any bugs- things ran perfectly smooth for me. I did get frustrated at times however that was because there is some "moon logic" here unfortunately. The forums offer a lot of help if you get stuck. Ultimately I recommend this if you like puzzle games and aren't too proud to search for help when you inevitably get stuck.

the aesthetic caught my attention and its free so i downloaded it unfortunately its hardly playable at all (stopped at 4th puzzle) the first puzzle is a massive red flag for me already, the puzzle is more like a riddle where you just have to "get it" or you dont, and that's not even the main problem. the main problem is that when i read a walkthrough to see the solution it doesnt even make sense. In the community walkthrough it's briefly mentioned that the answer is [spoiler] to turn the panels so it's a bug facing the flower but it doesn't even look like a bug? where does the bug come from? how do we know its supposed to face the flower?[/spoiler] the only clues/interactables in the first area are 1) information for the second puzzle (massive red herring for 0 benefit) and 2) journals (flavour text) which basically don't clue the answer at all. usually when you put this type of puzzle in the intro it's a sign of whats to come, fortunately the second puzzle has some solvability to it (still little riddly but it's within bounds) and then boom third puzzle we're back to this nonsense where you just have to ram your head into a brick wall until you get it or don't. i find myself a…

Could be nice puzzle game, but the puzzles are very cryptic. Could be fun for someone who likes cryptic puzzles.

i woudlnt recommend this game, but overall its not hopeless. each concept could be fixed but right now the puzzles arent very good. crucible - hits at a story that is never picked up again except in one sticker on the ending mountain puzzles - 1. i needed a guide to figure out what the hint was for the first puzzle, but that's on me. could be better but it was my fault for missing it. 2. it took a little thinking to realize it was a color mixing puzzle, but after figuring that out it was pretty good albeit basic. absalom I - its name is reminicent of electric sheep one which i like. otherwise its just a cutscene that tells some story that might be tied to twelve and seems to have even less connection to absalon II somehow (despite the same ofc) Twelve - seemingly connected to absalom I, but after that theres not much going on. theres a few areas that just feel disconnected from everything else in both gameplay and story. it crashed a lot. puzzle - it seems like this level's puzzle was changed a few times, and really isnt properly hinted at. i had to use a guide to figure out what i was doing wrong and even then it seemed esoteric. it is a good idea, though sarcophagus - a bit e…

I thought long and hard about whether I should recommend the free game Vysions or not but, in the end, I've fallen on the "not" side. Why? Because without the incredibly helpful guides, particularly that of DDtective, I would have given up very quickly in frustration at my lack of comprehension about what the puzzles were about, let alone thinking how to solve them. There were also odd interludes between puzzles (such as [spoiler]triggering a bomb on an aircraft[/spoiler]) which seemed ill-fitting. Even the achievements were strange - none were related to solving the puzzles themselves, and one required [spoiler]the game to be left running but untouched for an hour[/spoiler] - why artificially inflate the play time in this way? Normally I would consider myself ok at puzzle games, but I found this one - however attractive it looked - to just be opaque to me; maybe this is partly due to my limitations, but I've never felt so lost right from the beginning of such a game before. I've recommended games that I could see would be enjoyably challenging for others even if they were not right for me; but sadly I just don't get that sense of entertainment here.
