Played 3 hours. Enjoyed what there was, despite UI being broken. (Some elements off screen, window borders appear to be fixed images drawn over the dynamically sized windows -- so there is just a random box over everything that doesn't actually relate or contain any given window, have to point slightly to the side or below items in the 3d world to activate them) Then ran into a bug where the next turn button no longer works. Last posts in the bug discussion is from 2 years ago, about that bug. No apparent developer or player activity in discussions since 2022. Neat idea. Broken, abandoned game.

I really like the idea of the game, but the bugs are incredibly annoying. I have researched the same technology a million times and it gets reset. I go on a quest and fail it because I don't have a tech. Come back "to town", research it, go back to the wilderness on the question and fail for not having the tech I just researched. This is beyond frustrating.
A Great Idea wrapped in Jank
I loved this game since I discovered there are actual ciphers in it, and it did not dissapont me in this regard. Complexity of the gameplay was somewhat confusing, but I got used to it and even enjoyed the cloak and dagger strategy this game provides. What I didn't enjoy was execution. UI is unintuitive and is prone to bug out 80% of the time. It is awkward, or sometimes impossible, to check literaly any info on the character, especially relations, because in the realtions tab the game loads the entire city in a massive wall of faces (naturaly it takes ages). When you check what your agent is doing you will see the description of actions of the agent you selected before. Scrolling through hierarchy becomes old fast once you get four or more highest rank agents. To check if your agents are wanted you need to scroll through each of them (or select the one who suspiciously frequents the jailhouse). It's hard to understand what the raven your agents are even doing, because the tab designed to help with that does not help at all. I got raided several times, and not a single time did I understand which of my property was raided, because the…

Thoroughly unique and enjoyable, WftR is a dose of espionage, business management, an intriguing story, and a very minor first-person element. Yes there's a lot of bugs, but I still am fully convinced it was worth the playthrough. You will need Google Lens.
