About Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

✦ AI summary

Command your personal voidship across the perilous Koronus Expanse, building a retinue of allies whose fates intertwine with your own through morally consequential decisions that reshape the world around you. Engage in tactical turn-based combat where positioning, cover, and devastating companion abilities determine your survival against the enemies of Mankind.

Begin your adventure aboard your personal, giant voidship, traveling between the multitude of systems within the Koronus Expanse, a barely charted and incredibly perilous region of space. Despite being considered a backwater of the Imperium, this region encompasses an enormous stretch of the void, filled with dangerous creatures and prodigious opportunities for profit and exploration.
Rogue Traders never travel alone. Gather your retinue of righteous heroes, twisted psykers, and perfidious xenos. All of them are ready to follow you into the darkness between the stars. They will offer you counsel, aid you in battle, and allow you to amass ever more power. In return, you can guide them through their own personal journeys, changing their destinies forever.

During quests show your subjects mercy or disdain, stay faithful to the God-Emperor, or consort with enemies of Mankind - your every decision and every act, even in character creation, is changing the in-game open world and those who inhabit it.

Slaughter the enemies of Mankind in a fully-fledged isometric turn-based tactical combat. Take advantage of cover, the environment, and careful positioning to overpower your enemies. When that is not enough - use your companion`s powerful abilities to turn the tide of battle and achieve victory even in the direst of situations. Our video game adaption of the classic Rogue Trader ruleset allows an enormous number of possibilities for you to explore.

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's exceptional writing, atmospheric storytelling, and deep tactical combat that captures the Warhammer 40K universe with impressive detail and care. However, some note that class variety and moral choices feel more limited than expected, and the dated graphics and RPG design may not appeal to players seeking more modern sensibilities or refined mechanical complexity.

An enjoyable game. Fun depth to characters and mechanics. I will say as a completionist that Act3+ you may want to swap UP the difficult as I found most fights on normal ended before the enemy got a single turn. This game needs a better inventory system though, my god. Increase the quicksaves up to 20 and make sure to use them. There's a couple of annoying gotchya's in the game I feel were undeserved or underexplained what my choice meant.

Amazing game just finished it with all the expansions. Little Sad it is finished with >115 hours into it. I find a lot of CRPG’s often drag a bit especially towards the end of Rogue Trader never really did. It take a bit to into maybe 10 hours or so but then the story really picks up and is well worth the play through. I am not really into the Warhammer 40k universe so I don’t know much of the lore, but I image that story would be even more compelling and enjoyable then I found if I knew the lore. You do not need to be into 40k to really enjoy this game. I can not recommend it more, hoping them may sequel.

Scoring about 7 outta 10 here, A friend purchased this game for me, though it had been on my wishlist for quite a while. Not a bad game with some interesting ideas, admittedly, some poorly written ideas at times. This game is a good 40k game, better than some of the tripe that seemingly constitutes a good 40k games (I can see the upcoming Dawn O' War game falling into this category = I guess we'll see) Owlcat did a fairly good job at creating a universe that feels very 40k-like, and good job to 'em, but there are some underline issues that jar and leave a nasty taste in the mouth. Are some of the abilities / talents poorly written, useless, or just pointless = yup Are some of the character introductions / stories annoying, grating, or badly written = yup Does the music feel bland = yup (I muted the music very early on) Are some of the timed obstacles / trap you have to bypass silly ASF = yup - whoever decided this was a good idea was prolly a sadist who drilled out his own eyes long ago. Does the narrative sometimes seem silly, jumping from serious story content, to slapstick bs, or moustache twiddling evilness for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles = yup Are the load times silly = yu…

It's great! Give it a try if you love 40k, or want to try it out!

It's the best RPG out there and I have been around since the 80s.

Feels like this game came out 10 years before divinity original sin 1 while being 10 years older
