It used to be an average tactical game. Unfortunately, it was transformed into a collection of missions with a linear plot (for "educational" purposes). The whole X-COM-like layer of commanding an uprising is simply gone... But it is still a game you can finish, and it offers some fun. -/+ Darkest Dungeon-style combat + nice graphics -- missing content

Imagine Darkest Dungeon in WW2 setting and you get Warsaw Rising: City of Heroes. At least that seems to have been the idea. WR isn't a bad attempt at all. The historical background of the uprising is interesting and during the missions you pick up a lot of the stories. The combat and management part is not bad. It does not have much depth though. There is a lot of unit variety, but the execution is not great. Saying it's an unpollished diamand is too much praise, but since its free why not give it a try.

Cool game, Heroes of might and magic in the reality of one of the most brutal, and yet underappreciated, theaters of WWII. Great animation style, cool gameplay - of course it's not an AAA title, but definitely a little gem.

Thumbs up for educational purposes, but it’s barely an interesting game. The gameplay is just walking around a simple Monopoly style map and dealing with enemies. The combat isn’t engaging, one of my squad members with a big rifle missed 3 shots in a row even with no barrier in the way, which is ridiculous. I rate the game positive only because it’s free.
