[b]Watermelon – A Tasteless, Hollow Experience[/b] "Watermelon" attempts to capture the juicy allure of its namesake, but ultimately it leaves you with nothing but a sour taste. The game’s design feels slapped together, with uninspired visuals that fail to evoke any sense of freshness or vibrancy. Instead of offering a satisfying slice of fun, you're left with repetitive, bland mechanics that quickly become tedious. The gameplay is a monotonous grind, nothing innovative or engaging happens beyond the basic tasks that never change from one level to the next. Controls are clunky and unresponsive, making every action a frustrating endeavor rather than a delightful experience. Overall, is a disappointing, flavorless game that fails to deliver on its juicy promise. It’s an unappetizing experience that you’d be better off skipping entirely.

I believe I am seeing a trend here. Besides the more popular Banana-like games being easy cash-grabs, these types of games are becoming a perfect DIY, publish-your-first-game-on-Steam sub-genre. And Watermelon fits right into that. There is nothing different in the game that would warrant a review. Sure, there is a simple little mini-game you can play, but come on. Why would you play it? And why would you even expect it from a Banana-clone? It's just a way to say: look, we've made this too, and this game now has some "content" to it. There is also no market for the game's items, and they do not drop often enough to keep Watermelon open just to pump-up your inventory item count. The only reason I can think of for even installing this game, is for the 100% achievements, which you can get for simply opening Watermelon for the first time. All in all, congrats to the developer on their DIY Steam project. Nothing else to see here.

Who doesn't love watermelon? I don't think there's anyone who doesn't. Watermelons are awesome. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about this game. It only has one achievement and you unlock it almost immediately after starting the game.
