Waves 2: Notorious

[h1] Not as good as the first game still have some replay value to it. Controls are responsive however UI needs a bit more optimization for controller use. Various types of enemies to shoot, some of them might surprise you. A few different modes to choose from or you can just simply dive in. Default mode is based around taking down enemy towers and staying in the zone to complete download or upload (game just can't decide). Some sort of story mode would be a nice welcome sadly there's none. As you play through the game you'll unlock new stuff so you can change your loadout. Music is ok but nothing spectacular. Just don't loose yourself in endless waves of psychedelic eye straining visual effects. Overall not bad but better to stay with the first game. [/h1]

(not really a review) I played Waves (the original) a lot when I was a young teen. I was going through a particularly hard time in my life, my parents recently separated, my mom quickly remarried to a man in another state and we didn't get a long. I didn't have much friends as I struggled at home and found it hard to connect to people at school. A lot of the time when I was at home I would stay in my room and play games to take my mind off of the difficulties in life. Waves was particularly good at this as the chaotic nature and tense moments would force me to focus on what was in front, not around me. The music was tense and loud, perfect for drowning my mom and (then) step-dad screaming at each other through the walls. The developer behind Waves and Waves 2 really understands how to grab the players attention and hold it. The flow of the gameplay is very dynamic and varies depending on how well your doing. Enemies, obstacles and even the music increase or decrease in intensity based on your performance. If you're doing very well and have a huge multiplier, expect hundreds of diverse enemies to come barreling at you at mack 10. If you keep getting hit the game will likely slow do…
