About WeakWood Throne

WeakWood Throne is a 2D Action RPG with the open world. In the story you will find out what happened in the WickWood Kingdom; why its inhabitants get poorer every day, and soldiers-beasts wander on their fields; what's wrong with the new king, and how to dethrone him.

In the game you can freely travel around the world, while playing as a swordsman, an archer or a mage (or all at once), complete the quests, or go to the forest and earn gold by finding secret items and chests.

Go on your adventure through the kingdom and defeat every enemy on your way!

In detail:
With the open world, you can earn gold in several ways in the game:
• Wander through the forest and find various expensive plants, chests or hidden weapons, and then sell everything in the nearest village.
• Hunt the animals and rob caravans of soldiers by taking away their supplies and gold.
• Complete the quests, for which you’ll be generously rewarded by inhabitants.

As in all RPGs, the ultimate goal is to develop the character to the maximum level and to defeat all the bosses that can be met on the way. At nighttime, the hero may find unique enemies and unique quests. In different types of locations there is a variety of enemies and items with unique characteristics and appearance.

✦ AI summary

Players are divided on this minimalist indie RPG. Those who enjoy its cute, low-stakes aesthetic appreciate it as a charming short experience with forgiving gameplay, though some note translation issues and minor bugs. However, others find the core mechanics underwhelming, criticizing stiff combat, poor AI, lack of map system, unfinished quest content, and overall polish that feels half-baked compared to the game's ambitions.

Short and clunky feeling game. Movement and combat felt stiff and just not fun for a game that has a lot of both. Game resets setting when you die/restart which was annoying. Very minimalist in design and execution. No map, just kinda walk around and do stuff as you slowly level and get towards the endgame. And since this game is minimalist, or presented that way, everything feels half-baked and unfinished. Like no real music, just occasional sound effects. AI is really dumb things just run toward you most the time and NPC dialog feels rushed. Just an unappealing game to play.

Although the translation is a bit off, the game is cute for it's price. I got all the achievements and completed the game 100% in my played time. It's a short game with a basic story. It's not a hard game to play, but it's a good way to spend a lazy Sunday on. I do recommend it for it's price.

THIS GAME IS ADORABLE! it won't be a "technical" review so don't read it if that's what you're looking for. The game is cute, easy to play, enemies are funny, the fact that you can be in a full plate armor and skate is silly af and I love it.

I wanted to like this game, but in it's current state it isn't finished. 1. There are the numerous posts from people with unfinishable quests, and I suffered the same fate. 2. Auto-aim is terrible, aiming yourself is worse. Not sure how I managed to get to the first boss without auto-aim 3. Attacks in generally feel sluggish & laggy. At points it'll feel like you're queueing up attacks and then you get hit by a 1-hit KO attack from the boss. 4. No maps. Grantedd at 3 hours in I have a decent idea of where everything is but after an hour I felt super lost. Overall it was alright, but I can't see myself completing it as the fighting mechanics aren't good enoug.

Great short game! The combat is hit & run, the visuals and audio are solid, and the grind isn't that bad. A few bugs can be found but that's understandable. You can get stuck in trees and bridges. The skateboard is only fast on wood or brick tiles which is a little annoying. The grind isn't that much but can be a bit taxing if you change your build mid game. Some bosses are hard to find without markers or pointers. Nonetheless, it is a great game with great potential.
