Lust from Beyond: Scarlet

Lust from Beyond: Scarlet is a horror adventure game, it serves as the second standalone short story introduction to full version of Lust from Beyond. If you have played Lust for Darkness and or Lust From Beyond: Prologue, it's a direct continuation of the story started there. A new protagonist ends up in the clutches of cultists. Alan, one of the Seeing Ones, are subject to experimentation in order for the cult to learn more about Lusst'ghaa. Scarlet serves as an appetizer for the full game and builds upon the story from the previous standalone stories. It introduces the Scarlet Lodge, a counterpoint to the Cult of Ecstasy, and a new hapless horny idiot. Scarlet also introduces combat elements, rather clunky and awkward ones. And takes step towards being a survival horror game rather than an adventure horror game. At this point if you've played through Lust from Darkness, Lust from Beyond: Prologue and Lust from Beyond: Scarlet, you start to wonder if the payoff is worth it with the full game. Will it be a thrilling climatic experience, or a sad whimper. Time will tell.

WHAT did I just play

A very cool short prologue. The story was more interesting then expected.

The game is quite unoptimized, but it’s a very good prologue plus it’s free and includes achievements. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre. On some level, it's even better than the full game. Thank you very much Movie Games Lunarium, Movie Games S.A.!

I only played this for achievements. The game itself is nothing to write home about.
