Waste of time

Lust from Beyond: Scarlet is a horror adventure game, it serves as the second standalone short story introduction to full version of Lust from Beyond. If you have played Lust for Darkness and or Lust From Beyond: Prologue, it's a direct continuation of the story started there. A new protagonist ends up in the clutches of cultists. Alan, one of the Seeing Ones, are subject to experimentation in order for the cult to learn more about Lusst'ghaa. Scarlet serves as an appetizer for the full game and builds upon the story from the previous standalone stories. It introduces the Scarlet Lodge, a counterpoint to the Cult of Ecstasy, and a new hapless horny idiot. Scarlet also introduces combat elements, rather clunky and awkward ones. And takes step towards being a survival horror game rather than an adventure horror game. At this point if you've played through Lust from Darkness, Lust from Beyond: Prologue and Lust from Beyond: Scarlet, you start to wonder if the payoff is worth it with the full game. Will it be a thrilling climatic experience, or a sad whimper. Time will tell.

I only played this for achievements. The game itself is nothing to write home about.

Lust from Beyond: Scarlet was a good lovecraftian, horror game and a good mini sequel to lust for darkness and a good prelude to lust from Beyond, okay then time for story. A young man goes to an abandoned theater/bar for a simple hookup; unfortunately this sexcapane is going to turn into a nightmare. Now then the likes, the story is pretty good with some nice twists and turns and it gives good indication on what happened since lust for darkness, while still telling its own little story that's in the same universe as the previous game. The gameplay was okay it's the same as the previous game. walk around, solve some puzzles, but they do some things different like adding a better stealth mechanic and giving you combat. The graphics are very good with interesting uses of colors and designs, particularly the colors red and the color choices for the other dimension. The levels are good each area is distinct and doesn't overstay its welcome, I particularly like the other dimension as its gives HR Giger meets Lovecraft kind of feel like the previous game had.
