About Whispers of the village
Whispers of the Village is an investigation game where you play as a fortune teller. As you enter a small village, you are overwhelmed by a terrible vision of the village ravaged by flames. Thanks to your divination skills, which tells you the future through tea leaves, you'll find clues in empty cups that will help you understand how the disaster will happen.
Atypical and captivating characters: Meet four villagers who come to your caravan every day to talk and drink tea. The four days leading to the disaster will lead you to grow closer to them, and discover more of their stories, personalities and secrets...
Play as a tasseomancer : You will have to find clues in the villagers' tea leaves through a series of shape matches. Each shape has its own meaning, and each combination and positioning of shapes must be interpreted to understand what is happening and will happen in the village.
Take notes: In your trusty notebook, you can record information obtained from your discussions with your visitors. This could be about their work, their relationships, or the predictions you've made for them.
And solve the investigation: Use stamps depicting the four villagers, as well as actions and objects. Place these stamps on drawings representing the different places in your vision to create sentences explaining the events to come. Once you've matched the right stamps with the right drawings, and put the drawings back into chronological order, the mystery surrounding the disaster will be solved.

Got the game a while agon when i had only my laptop with me. Thought the issues why i can't get through the first scene might be because of my too weak device. But now i'm trying it on my (for this game totally overpowered) PC and can't even get through the load-screen without a fatal error. The game is just not playable at all. I don't get the 80% of other writers who give this game a thumb up while telling you that they experience the exactly same bugs as i do and can't actually play the game at all.2 found this helpful
Short but great game. Had some issues with the ending but sorted that pretty quickly. Love the idea of sorting shapes in the teacups, sometimes a bit tricky to solve.
Not sure I understood the gold leaf mechanic, but the artwork is beautiful and the characters are interesting. Some mouseclicks didn't register quite right on the topics. Great game for a student project
Very good game, especially for free. Mechanic is cool, the characters and story are compelling. Some jank with the text and UI at times, but nothing game breaking.
Story
You have four days to uncover the events which will lead to the villages downfall. Play as a fortune-teller to read tea leaves, conceive predictions and discuss events with the villagers.
Gameplay
Follow designs in your guide book to decipher patterns in villagers tea cups as they come to you for insight. Use this to complete your journal of predictions to uncover the mysteries of the village and solve the puzzle. Beautiful graphics and pictures. Reminds me of old paintings, with 3D objects giving an atmospheric experience. Colours are rich, dark and eerie - and each of the characters have their own design charm. No 'copy-paste' people to be seen. Narrative is well-written and easy to follow, and even the text boxes blend perfectly with the environment. The tea leaf puzzle is intriguing, with just the right amount of difficult. If you get stuck you can always use guess work or a guide to allow you to continue through the story. About 1.5-3 hours of gameplay depending on personal pacing. A few issues mainly caused by the fantastic graphics. Pieces don't always load correctly. I had an incidence where a character was a huge white box and the text box w…
Nice atmosphere, beautiful 2D graphics, hypnotic music (especially while reading the ea !), cool dialogues. Pleasant student game with interesting game play. No stress, easy to play and enjoy. Thanks for the gift. Keep going.
