Windstorm has an engaging open world with rewarding exploration and appeals to fans of the movie franchise, but significant technical issues including crashes, resolution bugs, and clunky horse steering mechanics undermine the experience. Players are divided on the core riding mechanics themselves, with some enjoying them while others find them motion-sickness inducing, and the horse character design fails to meet expectations for those seeking cuter aesthetics.
I tried my best to like Windstorm, but the technical issues make it a struggle to enjoy. At one point, the game broke so badly I couldn't progress and had to Alt+F4 just to escape. If you use a dual-monitor setup, be prepared for constant resolution changes, flickering and graphic bugs on your screens. Most importantly: the horse steering is extremely clunky and actually gave me motion sickness. Only buy this if you have a high tolerance for bugs and a very strong stomach. If you love horse riding, just buy Red Dead Redemption 2. Don't support games like this that try to drain the wallets of girls who like horses with an unpolished product. RDR2 has still the best horse physics to date.4 found this helpful
The riding mechanics are fun, but the horses are not cute enough. What is the point of making a horse game if you don't make cute horses?!?!?!?! MAKE THE HORSES CUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you.2 found this helpful
This is one of those games where I wish there was some kind of in-between review I could leave. Instead of a simple thumbs up and thumbs down. Because there is a whole lot about this game that I liked and which also surprised me. However, I can't necessarily say that I would recommend it to a friend. What I did like: - The open world aspect of the game really surprised me. The map was decently large, with plenty going on in it to make it feel alive. It was satisfying to explore the map and memorize the different locations and various animals in those locations. To then have a mission telling me to find some hawks to take a picture of and I get to go, "aha! I know where they like to nest!" It made the exploration feel very rewarding. - Again, the world also felt very alive. There were all sorts of animals always running around, planes and hot-air-balloons in the sky, and even changes in weather and time. - I was also surprised by it's decent difficulty level. I started off on a higher difficulty because I assumed the game would be far too easy for me. I ended up making the right choice, because what I was left with was challenging but not frustrating. I found myself quite inve…1 found this helpful
Since I am obsessed with speedrunning Bibi & Tina games I thought I'd speedrun this one as well since nobody seems to have done it before. Finishing the game took me 9 hours, planning the route for the speedrun lasted another 9 hours and the speedrun itself took more than 3.5 hours. It was a horrible experience.
Calling this a "game" is an understatement. The moment I loaded up and saw him standing there, Windstorm, the elegant beast which I get to lay my hands on, I instantly fell to my knees and sobbed. Tears of joy? Mostly, but also tears of sorrow for the millions who will never experience his beauty. My ancestors look down upon me, yearning to experience a fraction of what I have felt while bareback riding my beautiful Windstorm. He is mine, and I am his. Forever.
if u love windstorm the movie as i do, this game is for u. pretty music, horse, girl, nice quests. And its fun
