this game is so boring that I think it rewired something in me. is this the best we can offer for our young impressionable horse girls EDITED REVIEW: wait sorry now I have watched the film upon which this game is based - Windstorm - and now I must amend my review accordingly. Don't ever call me a baseless hater I do my homework here This video game is actually in many respects a remarkable adaptation of/sequel for the film with which it shares its name. The game replicates actual lines from the movie, actual characters in the movie, and shows game versions of actual props and locations from this film, a family friendly German saga about a girl who loves a horse. Things that are different in the game: I would've liked to see the mean girl in the movie appear at some point in this game to add some tension to the story. Maybe she does after the first 5 hours or so IDK. the movie has some insane choices of mike drop montages, not present here at least in the first three hours of the game no one mentions the mysterious Hungarian in the movie, sometimes she gets off the horse, which she cannot do in the game. Also merely namechecked in the game from what I saw but critical to the fi…

I enjoyed this game way more than I thought I would. I've never played the original, so I can't say how the Remaster compares, but here are my pros and cons: PROS - Large world to explore, with different terrain and regions (that pertain to various quests). - Honestly, just a fun throwback to older horse games and some of those riding mechanics. - Just the right balance of simple and challenging, at least for me personally. I played on the second-lowest difficulty and found it wasn't too easy, but wasn't impossibly hard either. - The hoof picking mechanic is very satisfying. So are the rest of the "care" mechanics, honestly, such as grooming and cleaning the stables. - Achievements and collectables are fun to work towards and genuinely rewarding to accomplish. CONS - Poorly optimized. Even on low-medium graphic settings, the game stutters at times. There are also occasional bugs and glitches, though I didn't encounter anything completely game-breaking. - Trying to ride over uneven terrain, especially rocks, gets tricky and the horse gets stuck easily. - Repetitive after a while because of the limited quest "types". - No indicators on the map except for your current location. The …

Remastered version is really pretty! Beautiful environment for riding with nice music, though the game itself does feel a little thin and more like a series of mini-games, which makes the whole experience flow a bit less than I’d like. Controls felt a little clunky at first, though with time and practice it’s okay.

I never thought I'd compare a horse game to Assassin's Creed, but if you remember the original game from Ubisoft, you'd know it was a fleshed out world full of possibilities and places to explore, but when it came to plot and actual progression, they'd sort of forgotten about that, and gave us a bunch of mini games (like sitting on a bench); some of these missions made the most of the game, others... well, most, did not. And so comes Windstorm in a very similar state. The world is quite wonderful to explore, and if you're the type to just enjoy riding a horse aimlessly, you'd probably find a lot to like here. But when it comes to story, and missions, the game falls flat. What there is of the story (and I understand its based on a movie, but there doesn't seem to be much plot at all here) is presented in a series of quick dialogues like a visual novel, and they're almost always a prelude to get you to do some work. The game is at its best in the open world mode, but after 6 hours and leveling up the horse, Windstorm, I realised the game had no more to offer me beyond more terrible missions, and collectables. I'd recommend it (especially heavily discounted) for a few hour of trott…

Returned the game because it kept crashing. Really disappointing because the visuals are great.

a lot of pop-in like the buildings just suddenly appear and the graphics are worse than the pictures. Gameplay is mid. Feels like a phone game
