About Witchcraft Survivors

Witchcraft Survivors is an action roguelite rpg where you slay hordes of monsters while enhancing your characters with more and better spells and upgrades to kill even more foes! Instead of dodging bullets of your enemies, you play as the powerful bullet hell that fills the screen with your spectacular witchcraft!
  • Unique Heroes - Play different heroes, each with their own spells, builds, upgrade paths, strengths and weaknesses. You are rewarded for playing all of them individually and no hero plays like the other!
  • Three different meta progression systems - After each run, become stronger permanently in three different ways. Get powerful rewards by unlocking achievements, spend character xp on character specific progression paths and use gold to buy general upgrades in the shop.
  • Casual Playtime - Runs take usually only between 10 - 25 min, during which your heroes get from weak to godlike in no time!
  • Different Stages - Each Stage has their own Monsters and Bosses with their own behaviour.
  • Difficulty Settings - Adjust the difficulty to make each stage easier or harder. The harder the difficulty, the greater the rewards!
  • \
  • Different Game Modes - You can play different Modes in each Stage, resulting in a different playstyle.
  • Endless Onslaught - The Desert Stage never ends, how long can you survive with ever stronger waves of enemies?
  • Endless Progression - Upgrade your characters without limit.
  • And More - Hunt treasure rats for their loot, get cursed relics at the blood altar and buy up to 6 different cats!

So I’ve put over 20 hours into this game, and I’m missing all but the last Achievement, which isn’t hard to get if you’re willing to grind for it. The problem is that the game is pretty dull compared to a lot of other action roguelikes and I had to power myself through just to get THIS far, and I can’t bring myself to spend a dozen more hours replaying the dessert level to keeping buying power ups to let you eventually bulldoze your way through the final stage. I already did that for the Forest, and would rather just play something fun that be a completionist. The problem is that until the forest, Witchcraft Survivors is shockingly easy. I went through the game without dying for the first time until the Cavern levels which is the third to last stage in the game. You can check when I finally earned the trophies for X number of deaths compared to beating stages in my history if you want. Whereas with something like Deep Rock or Vampires survivors and a specific set of weapons and experience spent on power ups will get you through a level, you still will expect to die as you meander through the stages. Not so with Witchcraft. It’s pretty easy to figure out what each playable charac…

A very good Survivor Bullet Heaven with several characters who all use their own theme skill sets. Meta progress is deep both by characters and common upgrades. Good feedback on hits and great massacre on battlefield. A must have for the genre lovers. Recommended!

A very mediocre "Survivorslike" game. It stays very true to the original formula - you don't get to aim or anything, it just fires off your bullets. It's a typical example for a "neutral" recommondation. You only get 6 chars in total, all of them themed around one element (fire, water, dark, etc). It doesn't have the split between "weapons" and "passives" like Vampire Survivors has - you can have all passives in your skill bar (except the first slot, which is your starting weapon). Also, it seems to be totally random, which three offers you get at level-up. Your success depends heavily on the level-up choices you get (at least past the first map). If you happen to get 3 or 4 levels on your first weapon, it's much easier than if you didn't get any at all. On later maps this means that you either get to level your first weapon on the first 8 levels (or so), or you die invariably. Since there are around 30 different skills and the selection seems to be truly random, you will have very few successful attempts in the game. There are basically 3 different main currencies - character experience, gold and achievements. Certain things only get unlocked after you got a certain number of a…

I hope when I use necromancy to resurrect my cat it also murders me and turns me into a lich.

The 5 characters you can unlock in a reasonable time share about 90% of their weapons if you don't count changing the color from orange to blue as a different thing; these weapons even within the same character often overlap each other pretty hard and feel redundant. Music is very repetitive. A lot of unlocks are grindy and uninspired. Despite the price being low, what is here is honestly underwhelming even for that.

Fun survivors-like. Relatively simple, so don't expect to sink 100s of hours into it. It does have enough stages with a variety of playstyles that it doesn't get boring. All of the stages have variable difficulties and there are infinite upgrades, though they do scale in price. So if you want to say that you not only beat the game, but mastered it, it would probably take quite a bit longer.
