Witchfire

I have played witchfire since release and I have to say this game has been improved upon at early step. Initially some of the jank and unexplained mechanics were frustrating but all of those problems have been generally fixed and feels like they took the diamond in the rough to making an actual diamond. The initial gunplay and feel of the game was always great and has continued to improve. The best part of the game are the guns every weapon feels unique and generally worthwhile to use. The build craft and the roguelike aspect of the game are very great and worthwhile. I generally dislike extraction shooters but with this game solely being 1PvE makes it great. Every map is generally great and fighting through the entire map and then trying to escape feels earned and generally rewarding. Tackling each part of the maps should be taken a bit slow and planned out rather running around like a mad man you will get swarmed and die. I will not say the game is easy and I am definitely not great at the game but if you want a fast paced FPS roguelike to always comeback to this is the game for you. A phenomenal, fresh take

Pretty and fun. Destiny-esque shooting and movement in a Victorian nightmare. Oddly enough this scratches my Skyrim itch since I've humped and leaped over about as many rock faces in my day of playtime. I spent a bunch of time finding a character template that I actually got along with for a first playthrough, similar to an ARPG. Because, be known, though Witchfire is a roguelite in mechanical and elemental upgrade aspects, the equipment you choose persists through death and the gear a character starts with might vastly overshadow any potential replacements (unless you pull a pro gamer move and choose the blank slate) until reaching your first or second Gnosis ~~ map 2&3.

It's fun. Dark Souls meets Doom with a splash of extraction. Tight controls and smooth as butter movement. Lots to grind and discover. There is no MP and the extraction elements take some getting used to so it's not going to be for everyone. If you like a FPS that feels like it was made with care by people that play the genre, you like a little risk reward mixed in and you enjoy the medieval atmosphere this game is a no brainer.
