Sadly, I couldn't finish the game even though I was about to get to the final boss, due to a PC crash leading to Steam wiping my save file. :( That said, still highly recommend if you like DOOM. It's not perfect. but a lot of fun once you get past the first hour, which can be pretty difficult. Game's so much fun even after losing 10 hours of progress, I can basically guarantee I'll pick it up again to finish it someday.1 found this helpful
A boomer shooter that doesn't really do anything worth noting. If you play through the first world, you really have seen it all. Game can be cheesed really easy, tons damage you just can't dodge, and the enemies are very generic. It's fun if you have nothing else to play, but even then, other games have done more while still paying homage to the "boomer shooter" genre. Sure, for 12 usd it's not that bad, but come on. I want to feel something and I felt nothing other than boredom. The game is called project warlock but I barely used magic because it's just something to use to kill enemies or bosses fast. Nothing else.
Fun Game
Your run-of-the-mill boomer shooter. I finished Act 1 which is about 10ish levels Enemy variety is not bad, the weapons and spells I unlocked are pretty cool. I find the level design very bad. Nothing makes sense, it's a bunch of random corridors and room that don't look like actual places people would build What I played is max 6/10 so far, deep discount.
Lots of BRRRRRRRR
It's a solid Doom clone, but it feels a bit unpolished. I fell through the map three times during my first playthrough, and on E4M6 I got swallowed by the ground because of broken elevator platforms. In the industrial maps I repeatedly fell out of bounds or got stuck outside the playable area, forcing me to restart the level. Those bugs were easily my biggest frustration. I also have a few smaller gripes. For example, I'm not the biggest fan of slow bullets and projectiles. That could work if the game was meant to be played at a slower pace, but that isn't the case here. I also don't understand why some weapon upgrades actually make the weapons weaker instead of better. After upgrading, dynamite turns into a proximity bomb that you can no longer throw very far. Why? I have no idea. Throwing dynamite is fun, but planting proximity bombs feels like planting flower seeds because getting enemies to step on them is so unreliable. Another example is the minigun, which can be turned into a portable autoturret - another unbelievably weak upgrade. That said, the gameplay is still a lot of fun. I really enjoyed both the music and the overall aesthetic. I also appreciate that secret hunting…
