Wolf & Rabbit

Wolf & Rabbit is a compact narrative adventure developed by Sealtail Studio and published by LR Studio that embraces the simplicity of RPG Maker design while delivering a quietly unsettling fairy-tale experience. At first glance, it presents itself as a gentle storybook encounter: a wounded young wolf named Carroll collapses in a meadow where he meets a cheerful rabbit girl gathering flowers. Out of kindness, she offers to take him to her grandmother’s house to rest and recover. The premise feels almost folkloric, deliberately echoing familiar fables about wolves and rabbits, predator and prey, trust and danger. Yet from the moment Carroll steps inside the cozy countryside home, there is a subtle sense that something beneath the surface is not quite right. The gameplay revolves primarily around exploration and puzzle solving within the grandmother’s house and its surrounding areas. Poor translations aside, this game was enjoyable. The soundtrack and artwork truly carry the experience. The hidden timed events (medicine crafting) and stealth mechanic (required for the true ending, optional for the bad ending) were unexpected but fun. I'm glad I gave Wolf & Rabbit a chance.

The puzzles are very fun, the unique puzzles and memorizing recipes to make was really fun, alongside the little gags and jokes sprinkled throughout the game. I will note that the translation is very rough, so you won't be able to enjoy the story unless you don't mind just getting the gist of things, and that one of the achievements (humility) is locked behind the Chinese language setting and you won't be able to obtain that without either replaying the game in Chinese or editing your save file. But other than those two things, the game's puzzles and unique implementation of RPG Maker scripts and mechanics give it an original and fun experience.

Wolf and Rabbit is not a bad horror RPG maker game. The story is at best alright. the lore is not deep but is enough to know what the world is about. Characters are good and well made. Gameplay is somewhat lacking with couple puzzles and 3 chases thoughout the entire game. But it is reasonable as the game total length is only about a hour and a half long. Achivement wise, its fun but requires a couple playthoughs. The game is simple and cheap to grab as well. It's a game that i recommand picking if you just want to play a short, simple, and cheap game with a good story with decent puzzle (although the last password is wtf) I give this game a 8/10
