Developed by Ratloop Asia and published by Reverb Publishing, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is a side-scrolling action game that thrives on originality. Instead of taking itself too seriously, it builds an entertaining adventure around the unlikely idea of a heavily armed chicken leading a rebellion against an oppressive penguin regime. While the premise sounds intentionally ridiculous, the game uses its unusual setting to deliver a polished blend of cinematic storytelling, platforming, puzzle-solving, and satisfying gunplay. Beneath its comedic surface lies a surprisingly well-crafted experience that successfully balances humor with genuine action and memorable world-building. The campaign follows Hardboiled Chicken as he infiltrates enemy territory in an effort to dismantle the dictatorship ruling Albatropolis. Spread across fifteen story chapters, the adventure constantly introduces new scenarios that prevent the gameplay from becoming repetitive. Amazing game and the soundtrack is Awesome, I also accidently learnt a trick to go very fast, just constantly switch your weapons quickly while moving and it for some reason gives you a speed boost lol I also really love the Art-Style too1 found this helpful
This game is very good and it has a nice selection of guns but one problem I do have is if my laptop sleeps and i turn back on the computer, the screen goes black and you must close the game. And when you try to open the game it will say playing but it doesn't open and the game closes 8.5/10.
Fun Game Funny Cinematics Can Tell Its Not A Triple A Company but its amazing for how small the group who made it was and top of that perfect band to collab with.
Now, the simple Flash-gameish gameplay might not be the most solid or the most fleshed out part of Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken (as it was originally a Flash project), but that's not what you're here for. The amazing art direction, the simple yet funny story and premise, and the hidden gem of a muscial artist that is New World Revolution - Now THOSE are what you're here for. What I remember of the sequel is that it is way more fleshed out than this one by gameplay and everything else, but the vibe and athmosphere of Rocketbirds 1 is way different. The game is athmospheric. The stylized art is amazing. If you're into those sorta things - I recommend this piece of software!11!! ...If you aren't into those sorta things - Then, in that case, I can't really recommend it.
