This is a fun little survival pool game! If you know anything about pool and cue ball positioning this game isn't that hard, but for people who don't it will seem hard. Has the crazy trick shot system like in Pool FX but the controls are a bit Wonkey since you can't adjust the spin / english while having the angle locked and for £1.24 its worth it! There have been a few Balatro pool clones recently, but this is oddly a better fit for that than the ones actually trying to be Balatro clones. A thumbs up from me!1 found this helpful
Great little game. For the price easily worth it. On sale, it is a steal. Not sure if it is me or not but things are a bit confusing at first. Hopefully people give it a little time though because it gets fun. Adding additional modes, cue ball abilities and roguelike deckbuilding elements would be nice, but at this price point you cant really expect a game like Balatro.1 found this helpful
I love this game's concept. I liked the ramping difficulty and the tools the game gives you to keep playing, especially since it can get somewhat challenging on the last shots of the match. The midgame felt a little bit unsatisfying, but maybe it's just me. I have to mention I only played the first game mode for now. The playing cards that display the objectives are called "pokers", despite not having any poker mechanics, but it's no biggie. They are just your current objectives at that moment of the run, but change when you fail or accomplish one of them after your shot. Unless you don't like its presentation, it's a "somewhere between okay and good, but maybe closer to okay" game to pass some time if you like pool and you're on a break. I won't talk about some sort of "enjoyment to price ratio" because I got it on sale.
too easy, controls aren't great, but still satisfying. worth the two bucks. i'll never play it again without some serious updates but i'm not going to refund it either.
My friend gifted this to me, honestly it's an amazing little game, some things could use a little more explaining, but it's a fun time sinker for sure.
Coming from Rack and Slay, this feels like the more skillful, less zany brother of the roguelike/lite pool games. Very clean and well executed, the myriad of trick shots required (or carefully planned power ups, if you're lucky and careful) combined with the random targeting of each card means that there's quite a nice skill ceiling to approach, and I believe this game makes it easy to come back and replay over and over. A few annoyances/issues: a) There are a few translation issues; the biggest one is calling the playing cards "Pokers" as if it was a noun, especially as one of the first things the player experiences, did not give me the right first impression, but luckily there's not much text involved. However... b) I wish there were more/different power ups you could get; it seems like, if you simply play well up to a certain point, you will be able to get the powerups to make all cards in hand the same value and have the same success condition, which you can get down to a two turn cooldown. This is powerful, as the end game conditions can be mighty difficult to achieve; you can always get this by simply playing in a run for long enough. To that end, watering down the powerup p…
