Play as Kazuma Kiryu in this epic conclusion to the original saga, where the legendary yakuza emerges from his peaceful life as a Fukuoka cab driver to prevent an all-out war threatening to engulf Japan's criminal underworld. Experience the series' grandest scale yet with four interconnected characters pursuing their dreams across five major Japanese cities in stunning 1080p and 60fps.
In December 2012, Kazuma Kiryu left his past as a ""legendary yakuza"" and his place of peace in Okinawa.
He now spends his days as a cab driver in a corner of Fukuoka's red-light district, hiding his true identity. All for the sake of fulfilling the ""dream"" of an important person.
However, a disturbing atmosphere begins to drift through the supposedly well-balanced society of the Kanto and Kansai yakuza, emerging as a plot to drag all of the yakuza organizations in Japan to war.
In order to protect the ""dreams"" of his loved one, Kiryu is drawn into the vortex of battle once again.
This is the story of four men and a girl chasing their ""dreams"" in five major cities in Japan, presented on the largest scale of the series yet.

Yakuza 5 is way too big for its own good, but it's also peak Yakuza, with a massive stupid conspiracy laden plot with fun character stuff, a gigantic amount of side content and some really nice boss fights. I thought this game was brilliant. Incredibly stupid, but so brilliant.1 found this helpful
Like a crack head desperately seaching to try and relive his first high, I was similarly searching for my own first high that i felt since i played yakuza 0 and boy does this game do it, dont get me wrong this game is LOOOOOOONNNG and some parts do drag out to the point were it feels padded out (saejima's hunter section) but when this game hits it HITS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard 10/10 made me rip my shirt off IRL during the final boss1 found this helpful
Game is very rough around the edges but once again it has playable Akiyama. If you enjoyed playing as Akiyama in Yakuza 4, play this game too.1 found this helpful

Absolute cinema
I've played all the main games of the series when I had it on Xbox, and Yakuza 5 is my favorite. Yes, it is a lot especially with 4 different campaigns, but the overall story and theme is one of my favorites. Definitely cried a lot, especially at the finale. Haruka was such a cutie in this game, love her.
