Annoyed that the remaster release removed original 3 and it's achievements. Still a fun game in a great series.1 found this helpful
This game particularly has a few issues, like how playing at 60+ frames can change how the gameplay behaves. Things like Kiryu's quickstep and a couple minigames work a bit differently. Then there is the actual gameplay itself, which is only okay. The bosses are beefier than usual, and everyone blocks a lot. But you only need to suffer for the first 3-4 chapters until you finally kit yourself out, then you can play the game. Because it's so worth it. If you've played any other Yakuza game, it's easy to see just how much BS Kiryu goes through. Which is why playing the dad simulator bits are so enjoyable. You see him trying to build a better future for him, only for his Yakuza past to catch up with him. I could go on, but the story is that good, and it's worth playing for that alone. Also it surprisingly seems that this is the ideal way to experience Yakuza 3, as Kiwami 3 just seems... worse. But the only way to obtain this game is through the bundle, which isn't a deal breaker if you're planning to play every game, back to back. But you can still get it standalone on GOG.1 found this helpful
Shame on RGG for delisting this with Kiwami 3 not even being a definitive version of the game. So disappointed with this company.
on to yakuza 4!
Greatest game ever made btw, don't buy kiwami 3, play this
If this is the so called "worst yakuza game", then I am very pleased with what's still to come. It's true, the combat of this Remastered shows its age and is certainly not as refined as the others, but that does not take away from what makes a Yakuza game incredible. Once again our most loved characters are joined with an incredible cast and once again an incredible story with high stakes is told. The content is again in large quantities, with multiple minigames, some with stories tied to them. Substories again are a fun way of immersing yourself in the city and laugh, something that you rarely do in the main story, that's for sure! The story this time takes a different aproach, with Kiryu minding his business in Okinawa, trying his best to isolate himself from the yakuza life once again. This guy just can't rest easy so surprise surprise, he will need to go back to handle business. If the combat is something that worries you, play the game in easy mode. There's nothing wrong with that. In my case, I played in nornal and it was just fine. The combat is fine, has some variation to it and some distinct heat moves.
