YGGDRA: SURVIVOR

I was already drawn to the charm of the existing YGGDRA characters, so I had high hopes for this game. As someone who enjoys survival games, I had a lot of fun with it. There is fun in choosing the characters.

Developed and published by BD, YGGDRA: SURVIVOR delivers a roguelite action RPG that combines automatic combat, strategic movement, and party-building mechanics into a satisfying survival experience. The story begins with an ordinary convenience store employee whose routine life is shattered when a mysterious Black Tower appears and threatens the future of humanity. With only one hundred days before disaster strikes, the reluctant protagonist is forced to climb the tower, recruit powerful allies, and battle increasingly dangerous enemies. While the narrative is relatively straightforward, it establishes enough urgency to keep players invested as they progress through each floor and uncover stronger abilities. Combat is built around surviving relentless waves of monsters while avoiding overwhelming attacks. Rather than focusing on complex button combinations, players control movement while their recruited companions fight automatically. This design encourages careful positioning, quick reactions, and tactical planning instead of frantic input execution. addictive and fun!

It’s a fun Vampire Survivors-like game that’s easy to jump into. The characters are cute, and the combat feels fast and satisfying, making it great for short play sessions. There’s also a goal of climbing floors, which makes you want to keep trying. I’m not sure about the overall content volume yet, but if you like bullet-heaven action games, it’s definitely worth a try.

The swimsuit skin is literally SO CUTEEEEE! Saw the artwork in the dev notice and it looks absolute cinema. Please let us view the full illustrations in-game, devs, I am begging! Super hyped for the new characters and stages! Keep 'em coming!

Yggdra is honestly such a love-hate game for me, fr. I first played Refrain on PC, and even with a few bugs, turning what used to be a gacha game into a full buyout where you can just chill and collect everything was super satisfying. Wish they dissolved the lore into the actual gameplay better though, kinda sad it felt missing. Still, gotta give 'em credit—the attempt to keep that OG vibe alive was totally on point. Definitely rooting for you guys until the full character roster drops!
