This game made my soul feel good

Coming off from Hotline Miami I was unsure if this was a game for me as I had played similar games which in comparison was a let down. HM is high octane gameplay, but MFE is good in its own way. For newbies like me with mostly D- or C rankings, this game will play like your Batman Arkham-games. That is not a jab at MFE, but a compliment. You get a new skill point after every map which you can use to increase your fighting-toolkit. If you are a newbie panic button-masher, the increased arsenal of fighting options will make you feel decent at the game while letting the more experienced players challenge themselves for S-rankings. I only experienced one bug where I got pushed out of bounce in a hallway, but other than that there were no combat/quirks that bothered throughout the game. I spent 7 hours from start to end. The replay-ability is in you seeking higher rankings for each map and getting higher up on the leader boards. I bought the game during a discount (+soundtrack), however I would say that what I got from it in terms of story/easter eggs/music and overall enjoyment the game is worth the full price tag. I have to admit that getting all the achievements in this game was a massive pain in the ass, even though I enjoyed the game quite a lot. Non-stop beatdowns and explosions, some great pixel art, an EBM soundtrack, and dozens of references to action movies and other games. You had me sold. The game features 40 short isometric levels in which you have to annihilate dozens upon dozens of enemies using your fists, grabs, weapons, and pretty much anything else you can get your hands on, with a talking drone as your sidekick. The combat is fun, fast, and fluid, with grabs, counters, techniques to learn, and secondary weapons that make everything more tactical and interesting. Finishing the game even on higher difficulty isn't particularly hard. Getting an S rank on every level and completing all the challenges, however, is a whole different story. And this is where my main criticism comes in: a better-balanced difficulty curve would have been appreciated. To get those S ranks, I mostly ended up using perks—which come with their own penalties—and simply scoring enough points to compensate for the handicap. Then again, maybe I'm just ♥♥♥♥ at the game. Good game!. Beautiful artistic design, decent history, good soundtrack and good gameplay. Spectacular combat ( Simple but with very good look) Special mention for spanish language support.(Subtitles).
