Among the Trolls

Among the Trolls has made a really strong first impression. I have just under 5 hours of playtime currently at time of writing. The developers have tightened the scope since the earlier demo, but importantly they haven’t stripped out the survival and crafting DNA. Hunger, thirst, gathering and crafting are still here, while combat feels slower and more deliberate, with positioning, blocking and stamina actually mattering. The atmosphere is probably the highlight for me so far. The music, ambient sound and Finnish mythology give the world a really distinctive identity, and performance was excellent on my system at 4K Ultra with DLSS Quality. I would have liked more voice acting, and only being able to save at a bed adds consequence but could become frustrating if you lose a full day of progress after dying. I wouldn’t be surprised if more save options are added later. The bridge building aspect could get somewhat monotonous perhaps - will have to see as I get further into the game - and there's a little audio bug that sounds like there's a hiss or the audio is peaking at times. i played a few hours of the demo and was hooked. its a story and its pretty visualy and music is really nice. game runs awesome but my pc is top cream. i just wanted to give a short positive review to start the ball rolling~!

first just wasnt digging it. 57.8% of players made achievement to get to grandpa's cabin. that is the first objective and the forest path forces you there.
