✦ AI summary

Rusty's Retirement is a charming and polished idle game that players praise for its appealing art style, smooth performance, and ability to run quietly in the background without causing distractions. The main appeal lies in its relaxed gameplay loop that rewards occasional check-ins, though it's worth noting that the idle genre itself won't appeal to everyone, and some find it can still be distracting during work or other activities.

Such a lovely idle game to have running while you work! As another reviewer already mentioned, it's especially great if you work a lot with AI. It fills those little waiting gaps perfectly. Check on the farm, tweak a bot, harvest a few crops, and back to work. What really got me hooked is how satisfying the progression feels. You start with a handful of plots and a couple of bots, and before you know it you're fine-tuning watering and harvesting ratios, unlocking new crops like pinto beans and planning your next expansion. It never demands your attention, but it always rewards you for checking in. I'm already looking forward to what comes next with Forbic and the bees. It sits quietly at the edge of the screen, looks charming and adds just the right amount of cozy to a workday. One wish: I'd love to see the soundtrack expanded! It's just as great to have running in the background for the same reasons mentioned above, and a few more tracks would make long sessions even better. Huge thanks to the developer. You can tell a lot of love went into this. Highly recommended!

Love this game it even has focus mode and low power options as a constant multitasker I love games like that keeps my background mind active while i do other things but also very very relaxing and stimulating at the same time I know that's a bit weird but it true. (only side note is i would like steam workshop mods to be a thing with this game I did buy the gold skin to give back to the dev but there are some things I want not need that I would personally only like in my personal game like i have arachnaphobia so sometimes like that building that moves like one or the harvest drones freak me out sometimes its a low priority freak out but a mod would solve it for me and others and i don't expect the dev to do every single request im sure they have other things they wanna do and for most people it isn't an issue hence mods modders are great for enriching community but also longevity of games because its like a fresh update new feature and not everyone has my specific problem).

What's not to like about it? It's an idler with cute graphics, simple farming activites and all around chill vibes. If you're achievement chasing, then you'll have a worse time because some of these achievements takes ages! But that's the point for games like this, you gotta relax and let time pass and let the farm do its own thing. It also features a "focus mode" which will extend certain cooldowns to fit a pomodoro timer, so that's nice if you're a pomodoro type of person. Fun little game to check back on once in a while.

Solid game with plenty of content to keep your attention. Great for when I am working, don't need to interact much. Cute graphics and UI. Overall I would recommend, especially if you like cozy farming games.

This makes me actually want to do homework while I have it in the background.
