Got a little stuck at Draconia but managed to march till the end thanks to the Russian achievement guide (I don't speak Russian but the guide was very detailed). Now to review this game, which is ultimately 2-in-1, Puzzles are old-school challenging from the get go but think carefully and you will find a way. Princess Sadja is the main player character here. You mostly get to run her adventure/tale. Then the second game is running the character of Geron, who is trying to uncover Sadja's story that happened like 400 plus years ago. The game does a good job setting up Das Schwarze Auge world building of monsters and magic. Note also that characters do die in this brave dark fantasy world. Good luck and have fun!!!

I do recommend this game as long as its prequel. The story is even better, the voice acting is charming, the various scenes are splendid. The story keeps the mature and poetic aspects from the first game and propose a story about past and present that is brilliant in its own way, really. More variety in the scenes and puzzles, there are still overcomplicated things and sadly on Mac M5, it's not as a smooth experience as I could experience with the previous game (strange, isn't it...) but a bug free experience on windows 11. I noticed that the music was particularly sweet and well made. so go on, it's a good if not great story with wonderful scenes and voice acting too (except the recurring problem I have with Geron's voice actor not alway spot on with his lines). One thing I didn't mention in my review regarding Chains of Satinav is that I like how all characters are believable and that the main hero is not merely a "placeholder" or a "mimic" put there so you can appreciate everything and everyone around him. He's fleshed out enough. And Sadja, the other main character, is simply splendid. go on and have fun everyone

Fantastic sequel to The Chains of Satinav ! Highly recommened, altough for Windows 11 make sure not to enable texture compression and HD movies (especially on nVidia Cards) and set the .exe to Windows 7 compatibility with DPI and all other relevant settings checked except run as admin.

The story was very interesting and I am glad to have played it just for that, but the puzzles were so nonsensical that I basically used a guide through the whole game. I have played quite a few Daedalic and Rusty Lake games, so I am not a complete idiot, but some puzzles I read about in the guide I would never have figured out. So yeah, good story, but for me, the puzzles made no sense. Of course not all of them, but quite a few. I guess everyone has that one game they can't fathom! :D
