What an amazing game! I just bought it because it was on sale and it looked colorful and dope and it ended up being both. By it, this developer deserves the money.

As the description for Super Mutant Alien Assault claims it is the Citizen Kane of Super Crate Box clones. I have much more time on this game on another platform, so this review has a few more hours of gameplay than my Steam time played stat would suggest. Overall I give Super Mutant Alien Assault a solid B for a pick up and play game. There is not quite enough here to play for hours straight, but if you enjoy arcade style action, this is a blast for 10 or 15 min at a time. I picked it up on a deep discount sale, and feel really good about having given this Dev a few dollars to support this game. If you ever played Super Crate Box, and want a slightly more modern take with a few more bells and whistles, this is a solid pickup.

It is good solid arcade for a brief solo or coop run. 20-30 min to play with your small nephew or something like that. Pretty much things to unlock and difficulty levels for a challenge.

Tried Super Box Crate because I liked the idea of it but hated it. Way too hard for me! Played this instead and loved it. I'm writing this after finally beating the normal run from the start on 1 player. I think this would be fun as a 2 player game. Still worth buying in 2025!
