About Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island

THE GODS ARE REAL, THEY’VE JUST BEEN ON VACATION
You’re Alex, a rookie backpacker taking a much needed break from modern life. Your trip is interrupted when you are suddenly shipwrecked on Ambrosia Island; a beautiful long-forgotten place of myth and sunshine. It’s home to the gods of Greek mythology. They’re real after all, even if they are having an identity crisis.
Can you discover the secrets of Ambrosia Island in this sun-drenched 'Friend Em Up' adventure.

GAMEPLAY - TREASURE HUNT
Sometimes, even gods need a friend. Many call the island home; from Ares to Athena, Hermes to Hades, although some may be harder to meet than others. Can you help return their lost memories and reconnect their fractured family?
- Control Alex to explore a 3D island with your trusty Ambrosidex device in hand.
- Find each of the island’s inhabitants and add their personal signal to your Ambrosidex. Some Gods may be harder to reach than others!
- Use the Ambrosidex’s radar signal to find your new friends' lost treasures hidden around the island.
- Return the mementos to their correct owner to jog their memories, trigger flashbacks and reveal the story of the island’s curse.
- Can you wake the gods, lift the curse and find a way home?

GAMEPLAY - STORY SANDBOX
Why did the Gods lose their memories? How did they become so fearful of one another? What happened here? Search the island for long-lost mementos to rekindle the memories of your new friends and uncover the truth, and maybe a way home.
- As you explore the island Alex can examine new objects and locations she discovers and talk to the characters she meets to unlock new conversation topics
- You can then ask the island’s inhabitants about any new topics you have found.
- Maybe they’ll know something that will help Alex on her adventure, although some sensitive topics may be off limits until you have earned their friendship.
- Play detective and uncover the mysteries of the island with this unique non-linear narrative gameplay.

EXPLORE THE ISLAND AND RETURN IT TO ITS FORMER GLORY
The island of Ambrosia is a wonderful place packed full of mystery and secrets, from its turquoise shores to the heights of its ancient temple walls. The island is idyllic, but the temple of the gods has seen better days. Can you be the unlikely hero to return it to its legendary former glory and win the friendship of the gods in the process?
- Ambrosia Island has a dynamic day/night cycle, some locations and puzzles may only be accessible at certain times of day
- Perform odd jobs and friendship favours for your new friends to restore their island to its former glory

This was a short game whilst it did have some novelty it quickly wore off with the amount of "go fetch" quests. The whole game basically can be condensed to "go interact with this specific item based on the character" and "go find mementos". so basically a go fetch game, which if you like you probably will enjoy but this one wasn't for me. The story was OK and personally very loosely based on Greek mythology but this interpretation was a bit too loose as someone who likes Greek mythology. I did play to complete it all and get all the trophies which felt like a bit of a grind but that's just because it's not something I would come back to play and I certainly wouldn't have paid full price for this game. However, I did like that it told you before entering a "you cannot go back after this point" which was great but this is as part of the endgame of the game. The final endgame was just tedious - but I wont give any spoilers, if you know you know. The best part of this game was the scenic spots and the music. The graphics were good and the seagulls were cute. The fixed camera angles that jumped depending on where you are forcing you to change the angle that you were moving was very f…8 found this helpful
I first played this game on Game Pass and it was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the sandbox style exploration. I decided to pick it up on Steam for a second playthrough and still find it a fun game to play. The gameplay loop is sandbox exploration combined with fetch quests for the characters. I found it an enjoyable loop and the game is in the 9-10 hour range so it doesn't overstay its welcome. The overall story and personality of the Gods you meet was fun, but the art style may be a turnoff for some. They went for some rather extreme interpretations of the Greek Gods. Despite this I found the game fun to play through. It is a nice cozy experience. I also recommend this developer's previous game Roki. For people playing on a handheld, this game runs perfectly at 15 watts and is a fun one to play with something like a Steam Deck.3 found this helpful
This game was pretty good, although there was a lot of retracing steps. I liked the plot, and the quests, but I did finish it in only 8 hours and didn't really feel like I was rushing. All over, I enjoyed the game and would love it to be longer, but it is short for how expensive it was.
This was a nice, cozy game that I played through in about 8.5 hours. It has a unique art style, fun characters, and an interesting story. The way the game is laid out for when new areas open or when items become available allows for a very good pacing of the game. There's nothing really in the way of hidden secrets, as you'll be led to all the tasks you need to complete, so the exploration isn't very in depth - but that was fine by me. The game is more focused on the characters and story than the exploration factor. It has really nice vibes going on, the music and art style amplifying that. All and all, it's a nice time for those that like relaxing games filled with heart.
This game was so good start to finish. Make sure to manage the ambrosia fruit though, or you're gonna be left scouring the whole map right near the end!
Cute little collect-a-thon game.
