Pretty Awesome idea, really. Executed well. Love it so far. Challenging. Good use of the IP. got some deep cuts. Maybe more for fans of the Gears series. Although there is plenty for fans of this kind of turn based strategy, Et al; X-Com and such...2 found this helpful
Gears Tactics was fun and this being my first XCOM like game, the turn-based mixed with the brutal execution style of Gears of War hooked me fast. My big gripe is the story though. it's way too short and stays pretty surface-level the whole way through. The numerous side missions between main chapters are fine for grinding gear, but what a missed opportunity that would've been the perfect spot for more banter and character moments between fights instead of just more maps to clear. Great combat, thin story, but definitely worth playing if you're a Gears fan or just getting into tactics games like I am.1 found this helpful

This game was not as good as X-Com but was better Miasma Chronicles
Obviously very different from the other "Gears of War" games and I don't usually play this genre - but I like it. I got it on sale for like £8 and I enjoyed it, so can't complain.
