About Necrobarista

✦ AI summary

Necrobarista is a stylish visual novel where you run a magical coffee shop for the dead in Melbourne, navigating the lives and deaths of a diverse cast while exploring themes of mortality and letting go. Its cinematic presentation blends anime aesthetics with film techniques, complemented by a standout soundtrack and the ability to create your own scenes using the game's tools.

In a back-alley cafe, the dead are granted one last night to mingle with the living. Necrobarista follows a dynamic and diverse cast of characters as they navigate Melbourne's hipstery coffee culture, the questionable ethics of necromancy, and the process of letting go.

✦ AI summary

Necrobarista is a visual novel focused entirely on narrative with no gameplay mechanics, and player reactions split sharply between those who find its story about life and death deeply moving and well-presented, and those disappointed by the lack of interactivity and player choice. Fans praise the compelling storytelling, beautiful 3D visuals, and excellent soundtrack, while detractors feel they're paying for a non-interactive experience that could be consumed elsewhere for free.
Necrobarista

-Overview:
N/A
-The Good:
N/A
-The Bad:
N/A
-The... Confused?
N/A
-Closing Remarks:
Necrobarista is not a video game; not by my standards at least. Thusly, I cannot review it as one. What it is, however, is a fascinating story about life and death. If you expect gameplay, you will be let down, as there is no player choice, no actions you can take, nothing except experiencing the story. This is not a bad thing, as the story is phenomenal. If you put aside your expectations, and go in with an open mind, there is a very high likelihood you will be a noticeably different person by the end. Can I guarantee you'll enjoy it? No. Some stories aren't for everyone, and it doesn't make you dumb for not resonating with them. If you want to fully take in this story, my only advice is to not expect a video game. With a clear and open mind, I truly hope Necrobarista can touch your psyche the same way it touched mine.

If I wanted to read a book I'd go to the library and read one for free, not pay 17€ to read on a gaming pc. 0 gameplay, cute animation, it is just a visual novel without even options.

10/10 Reminded me to water my mother's plants In all seriousness if you are into stories about death and grief then this is for you. The story isn't that long but as a busy adult I appreciate short games more and more as time goes on. The higher production value side stories are excellent, but the text based side content didn't give me much and I felt like they broke the pace somewhat. (With the exception of the three part story Billiards, that one moved me) The soundtrack is excellent if not very extensive. Overall highli recommend this game
