Frostpunk 2

You know what, I really loved fp2 despite it's shortcomings. First and foremost, the atmosphere still rocks hard. They nailed it exactly like in the first frostpunk. Story/theme is as good as the previous game. Instead of surviving the frost, it's keeping together all of your people so what you built does not crumble in chaos. However, I didn't find the music of this game as powerful as the first frostpunk's ost. It's still good, don't get me wrong. It suits the gameplay and the setting. I just hoped there could be more tracks like "the city must survive" in fp2's roaster. Which there really wasn't except a few pieces. It's still a good ost though, Piotr made another banger with the sequel. I absolutely liked the new designs of literally everything; UI, Districts, Factions, Event Arts etc. Everything looks extremely cool. Ideas for the factions are also really cool. My favorite is the technocrats as you could guessed. I love schizo hoi4 factions. My second favorite would be the menders, because their heatsuits look so dope. Anyhow, what I'm saying is, both the story of New London and the endless mode with Fractured Utopias are extremely well done design and writing once. But …

Pretty damn fun, I have to keep restarting like the first game because i suck balls at managing more than one or two things at a time. I paid 8$ for it on a key site (the main one everyone uses) because 45$ for this genre of game is honestly insane, especially when they have 15$ DLC to the game too. Im satisfied for my price point, although I gladly would have paid something like 25-30$ through steam had that been the price for this game. Get a key for it or wait for a sale, dont pay 45$ dude. thats too much for what this game is, and most of us could use that extra money elsewhere with how things are currently

PROS: 1. Stunning new gameplay mechanics than the first one with a macro management scope 2. Love the navigation UI design; the buttons & fonts, pop-ups, icons design, factions page, etc. 3. Dynamic interactions of political ideologies, e.g. you can get different outcomes when implementing laws from same/different factions which added complexity 4. Eargasm music for sure CONS: 1. Lacks tutorial, I get lost at the beginning to learn resource management properly. The developer seems to assume the audience is data-savvy, but still at least there should be a run through tutorial to explain how many your resources are remaining, how much is replenishing/diminishing, how to transfer resources between colonies, how to understand heat and its fuel, etc. though all of them are inside the tutorial page 2. Makes me sometimes dizzy and eye spasm if played on extended amount of time

I did come somewhat late to the Frostpunk community, but I have played Frostpunk for a while. I loved that game. In my opinion, Frostpunk 2 is the perfect successor game. 1. The graphics are beautiful. 2. The game genuinely gives you a challenge, like in the first one. 3. Even without the DLCs, Utopia Builder mode is replayable. 4. It feels like the natural continuation, thematically, to the first game. Here's my hot take: People complain that it does not have the personal touch the first game had, and that the increase in scale of the game makes it bad. While I can understand why that change might turn off sopme people, in my opinion, the change in scale is what makes this game good. New London isn't the tiny 600-odd people hugging a generator anymore. People have migrated in. People have been born. The city has expanded. And because the human population has grown so much, and survival is not as existential, human nature and politics have become the new ever-present danger to New London. People are more expendable than they once were in the first game. And that mindset change is exactly the kind of change 11-Bit was trying to show. Things don't stay the same forever. Systems cha…
