Broken Sword 5 - the Serpent's Curse

game breaking bug at the end after clicking on the sausage goat..

Broken Sword's puzzles never disappoints (I mean it in a sarcastic way). I've played the first installment, The Shadow of the Templars way back in 1997 (or 96, I'm not sure anymore), as a dare from one of my friends, who considers this, the most boring game they have ever played. And I've been hooked ever since. The same feeling, or sense of accomplishment when you have solved a puzzle, no matter how farfetched and unbelievable it can be. Probably that's why they put hints, so players won't get bored easily when already locked in determining what to do. The game is not for everybody, the story is heavily influenced by Dan Brown's 'Da Vinci Code' (even one of the characters that sounds like Rackham) and Umberto Eco's 'The Name of the Rose' . If you like solving puzzles and enjoy a little cinematic storytelling, then you will enjoy this game. Otherwise, it will just sleep in you game list, forever.

Took me a while to write this review, because honestly I didn't have much to say, this was my second playthrough over the years, but I still wanted to share the little journey before hitting play again. Basically, when I backed their Kickstarter, [b]Broken Sword 5[/b] was given on GoG, so I figured let's try to resurrect that dusty old GoG account. Long story short: I suddenly remembered the developer actually sent me a [b]PHYSICAL COPY[/b] of the game. Let's be real, you can't get much happier these days than holding a real disc. Old-school devs are simply the best! So I popped the CD into my DVD drive, and Steam detects it... what? I had absolutely no clue that [i]Revolution Software[/i] had also paid for a Steam license for that same key :o [quote]Story: [/quote] It's [b]Broken Sword[/b] ! Characters are always charming. Part 1 is noticeably better and longer than Part 2, which felt a bit rushed toward the end. Puzzles? Some are brilliantly designed, others... yeah, you clearly needed those hints.

Excellent point-and-click adventure. Somewhat hard.

The game is an improvement over 3 and 4, but the bar really isn't high. It's lower than the floor. It's alright but if feels like it's missing.. something.
