It is a very good game but it didn't tickle my fancy. It is a bit too serious for my liking. The puzzles are nice but I missed the "over the top" humor of games like Deponia, Sam & Max hit the road and Day of the Tentacle. It does have some humor in it. This is just a personal experience. It does not work.
Broken Sword was one of those games that stuck with me as a kid. It introduced me to George Stobart, Nico, and a cast of brilliant characters, and somehow managed to involve murder, mystery, conspiracies, and clowns without giving me a lifelong irrational fear of them. Revisiting it as an adult has been amazing. The writing still holds up, the humour is still sharp, and the adventure still has that charm that made me love it in the first place. It’s nostalgic, but not only because I played it when I was younger. It’s genuinely still a fantastic point-and-click adventure. Absolutely worth playing.
What can I say? One of the best Point and Click games ever made and the Director's Cut add even more depth to the overall game. I've loved this game since the 90's it still holds up to this day. With the release of Reforged (and upcoming Reforged for Broken Sword 2) it's a game series that keeps on giving and one that I will keep on buying! All hail George and Nico!
