Outpost: Infinity Siege

The game concept had very high potential, but the dev team got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over by the publisher and eventually disbanded. Abandonware.

Would have been better as a sandbox openworld survival/crafting/base building tower defence game instead of mission based.

liked the 27 mins i could play. kept crashing on start because vram to low???? dont know how i have 24g of it but whatever. recommended me change setting but wouldn't load long enough to change settings very stupid.

Get this game only with a key, the original devs basically got screwed over by the Publisher. Its a nice game to play for some time and a pretty unique genre mix but this game itself feels more like a very extensive Beta version of what could've been the actual game. Very cheap voice acting, very basic story etc. Its somewhat mid overall but does indeed play nicely together with friends once you're having your big last stands but it hides too many essential mechanics behind the late game grind which is a very big no-no. It was truly a game with potential but died due to the earlier mentioned screw-over. The ex-head dev is working on a very similar game with no fps mechanics called "Caliber Citadel" with updates on it on the YT channel so do check that out.

alright the game is pretty optimized and that is good for an UE5 game now onto the review, well more specifically the gameplay loop. the story isnt a strong suit here, just a "humanity is on its last legs we need to strike back" you will spend 30% of the game auto/normal traveling the map gathering resources, blueprints and completing MQ objectives 25% in your base builder designing how you want your base to after going across the map looking for the mats you need 25% in a defense holdout. how much gear you find and take back with you makes the holdout longer, up to 10 minutes, and if you die/fail, you need to do it over again and the last 20% is gearing yourself up, choosing what attachments your weapons have, what kind of gear you take, etc all these things checked my boxes and i enjoyed it greatly, if this strikes your fancy you will have fun with it too
