About Fortified
Defend 1950s Earth from a Martian robot invasion by commanding troops, building defensive structures, and blasting aliens as one of four pulp heroes in this explosive blend of tower defense, strategy, and third-person shooting. Team up with up to three other players in co-op chaos that demands coordination and firepower to survive waves of towering mechanical attackers.
- Genre-Bending Gameplay – Fortified combines third-person shooter, real-time strategy, and tower defense mechanics in an exciting new way!
- Retro Sci-Fi Flare – Go back in time and experience an alternate history, where planet Earth is assaulted by an unstoppable Martian menace. Be immersed in a world that’s straight out of a 1950’s comic book.
- Construct the Ultimate Defense – Players will fortify their base by strategically building a network of defensive structures to thwart the oncoming waves of mechanical invaders.
- Pulp Inspired Character Classes – Fortified features four classes based on prominent pulp character archetypes, including a jetpack piloting heroine, a shotgun wielding space cowboy, a secret government agent, and a battle hardened Marine captain.
- Four-Player Co-Op – It can be difficult to face the Martian machines alone. Fortified offers diverse co-op gameplay that requires team coordination and strategy. There’s power in numbers, but victory only comes to those who work together.

I LOVE Orcs Must Die. It is the best tower defense series in the world to me. So when I found out this game is essentially a sci-fi clone of it, I was absolutely on board. Now, is the game as funny and charming as OMD? Nope. Not at all. But "muh sources are telling me..." has become an inside joke and the comic/retro/50's B-movie sci-fi is very fitting and fun to play around in! One big thing it does have over OMD is being able to command units. In OMD, you have archers, knights, dwarves ect. that you can place down and they'll attack from or near their placement automatically. Fortified does the same, BUT you can also tell them to move around. There's a command to run back and protect the base, one to follow you at all times, one to stand and guard a specific area and one to go back to their original placements. It's actually VERY cool. You can essentially have an army following you around every inch of the maps without worrying about their specific placements. The only thing I'm bummed about the game is that it's extremely short. Like, 4-5 hours TOPS short (unless you 100% it). I feel like the devs were going to make it bigger and grander, but cut it short. Does it scratch t…4 found this helpful

A fun tower defense game. It’s especially enjoyable to play cooperatively with a friend, and it has a retro aesthetic
