The Dragoness: Command of the Flame

Looks like my childhood dream of making a game about dragons: there are dragons, and then MORE DRAGONS, and you run around as an elf girl commander. Oh oh, even better if you're a DEAD elf girl commander! The rest feels like a Heroes-like game reduced to its bare minimum. I’ve put quite a lot of time into it just for the achievements, because I have a lot of “free time”, and weird little janky games like this are my guilty pleasure. But honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to Heroes-like fans. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, really, except people who enjoy weirdness as much as I do.

It is a reimaginig of what Disciples could have been. A TBT, with some bits of meta-progression, minor map replayability (for resource gathering, and a silly but enjoyable story and there you have it. Also, the pangolin character is quite funny at times.

I really enjoyed the gameplay and figuring out what units I wanted to play each run. I do not have a lot of time into the HOMM series so I cannot say much about the comparisons, but I really liked the graphics and the town building aspect. Only real gripe I have is late game it seems like some of the town unlocks are not needed or really helpful. I was really hoping the town would be a bigger factor into making my Units more OP :) I casually played on easy mode just to experience the gameplay and after finishing the game I wished there was more to play and build on. Overall I was very satisfied with my purchase.
