The Language Game

The Language Game is a very badly made "educational" language word quiz game that looks more like a browser app/webpage or a mobile app than a serious PC game. You choose your language then the language you want to learn, and then you're prompted with a series of quiz questions that may or may not guide you to learn some words and phrases from the target language. Starting off, this is very bad even at achieving what it sets out to do. There's only a tiny vocabulary in the quiz game so you'll get questions repeating even in the first quiz you do. It's almost a joke. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/flash games. While the artwork itself, while mediocre, might be considered passable, the visual presentation here is negligible…

Waste of time, space, money and effort. Avoid even if offered for free.

Anything I hate is when you have a game that has no options and you can't turn the repetitive music off. But you have to have the sound on to hear the pronunciation. Got it in a bundle or I'd be refunding this garbage.

The music gets a little annoying. Overall though it does make for an additional language training medium. Every bit of practice helps afterall.

Y'know I really wanted it to be good ...but it is simply not enough. Not enough at all.
