Childhood classic and as always, forest fire bested me. Really fun game but mechanics are quite dated and everything feels stiff.

A fun game but a frustrating one at the same time. There is a lot to do, which is a good thing. Interesting missions in the career that ramp up in difficulty in a satisfying manner and another mode where you run the emergency services for a city, trying to keep it safe for as long as possible or just play until you're bored. There's a lot of details in the vehicles, the units have a lot of abilities and tools they can use and the interractions with the world are great for a game of its time. But at the same time, sometimes there is too much to do. When there's multiple emergencies to respond to, there is little to no time to manage your units across them. There is really no automation/intelligence to the units other than basic path finding and automatically targeting nearby flaming objects, which means you need to micromanage every single unit. For example, you can have an emergency doctor next to an injured person and if you dont tell them to treat them, they will just stand there. You can have a policeman next to a criminal shooting up cars and people and they will do nothing unless told to.
