To my surprise, it's a slightly awkward performer, but one that winds up being pretty fun and engaging, largely due to the crime-solving component. Mechanically that element isn't mind-blowing, but it was more compelling than I'd have first expected. [h1]Gameplay[/h1] There's two main components to DC. The first involves platforming through different worlds, where you'll eventually leave with more information, or a specific clue in hand. Before entering, you'll find out how many pieces of upgradium are available. They're secrets hidden throughout every stage, and are well worth picking up, since they provide two types of upgrades for your character. This game to me is the definition of a hidden gem!! I loved the concept and I think they do a lot to take advantage of the alternate dimensions idea! I would have liked to see more worlds but I understand it was an indie game with probably a small budget and I'm satisfied with what we got! The art is very charming and I enjoyed getting to know all the characters in your home base. It felt very rewarding, since they all had so much personality and charm in their own right! And it definitely was invested in the story right away! The combat was pretty simple since the game is much more built around platforming, which felt very tightly crafted. The swinging mechanics especially were a blast to play with and felt natural once you have them mastered! And the levels are all perfectly built around your platforming with new gimmicks for each world! I enjoyed it so much that I did the time challenges for all the levels which I never do! It really is such a shame that this game isn't more popular because in my eyes it totally deserves it! So if you want to, give it a try!!

Overall not a bad game, but the platforming feels kinda off, especially the grapple beam. Level 2 of the Funderdome is atrociously bad though. Locking away the collectibles behind six awful minigames was a terrible idea.
