Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book DX

Beautiful cozy alchemy game with all charming character !! This is the first of the mysterious trilogy so its nice at starting point especially for newcomer the character story is heartwarming and the interaction is funny also makes you sad sometimes. in my opinion the main story is a bit short but there is plenty side char interaction. also if you already beat the main story and credit rolls keep going there is some mission to transition smoothly if you want play the next mysterious series, atelier firis!. the alchemy in this series is good, easy to learn but hard to master especially keep transfering trait from one item to another and make it loop until you achieve the highest possible quality will take time. the combat is also fun, enemy is challenging. there is enemy can smash your butt even on easy difficult if you not prepare enough XD. i beat this game on despair difficult defeat any boss that require you to create the best equipment with the best trait. im looking forward to play atelier firis next!

There is some kind of nostalgic feeling as I play this game. Not the kind of playing the game again after a while nostalgia, in fact, this is my first atelier game I played. But somehow, the vibe, the story, the world, all of it, makes me feel home and be a part of the game. I don't know what kind of power does this game possessed, but one thing for certain is that atelier series will always be a home for me. Not just a comfy game, not just an RPG game, it's home. There's always a moment where I open the game just to listen to the OST, knowing the fact that I can't find it anywhere on spotify (except the Ryza's trilogy). I hope atelier series will always offer me the same feeling, the feeling of home and nostalgia.

I had watched someone else play this game years ago, and since then, the itch to mess with potions has increased, so I picked this game up to try it out (I basically forgot everything except random story and plot bits). Overall, i love and enjoy this game, and I can't wait to eventually get to the next game in the mysterious arc. While it might seem below I have more gripes than pros, the many gripes are greatly outweighed by just how fun the potion system is once you truly understand it, and get enough going to make some broken traits (for example, there is a trait that trivializes every battle. Personally don't plan to use it but it might be useful for certain farming.) Pros: - The potioning feels so GOOD when you get a max'ed out result, and then seeing Sophie stand there as she commits war crimes with a nuke is great. - On death, you get sent back to base with a portion of your inventory discarded, but no game over. I'll accept it. - The story is cute, her friends are fun, the town is wholesome. There's enough yapping to keep you busy for a while. - Bless refills. Fun once you gen into the item crafting

A comfy game about an alchemist named Sophie and her journey to become a great alchemist like her grandmother. With very likable characters and so many things to do and make! The cherry on top is the amazing soundtrack and art style. A+

it was good but the story was short... spent most of the time gathering materials and synthesis...so many possibilities to craft something and it's brain-racking, 7/10 story, 10/10 synthesis
