Nightingale

Nightingale is one of the most beautiful games I have ever been invited to imagine. This is an important distinction. Because Nightingale contains just enough evidence of an extraordinary game to allow you to construct the rest of it yourself. It shows you magnificent Victorian and Regency-inspired worlds. Elegant architecture. Strange realms. Beautiful clothing. Elaborate estates. Furniture. Magical technology. Portals. Creatures. Materials with different properties. An entire aesthetic suggesting that somewhere, just beyond the next progression milestone, you are going to be allowed to build something absolutely spectacular. And then you unlock another chair. Nightingale's greatest talent is suggestion. For example, there is an Herbalist building set. Wonderful. It is presented as one of the more luxurious architectural schemes, so immediately the imagination gets involved. Perhaps I'll build an elaborate apothecary. A greenhouse. A conservatory. A beautiful botanical estate with balconies and ornate details. There is no sloped roof. There is no railing. Highly addictive plays very much like Valheim but with much easier building/storage make sure you can run DX12 on your PC before you buy though game WILL NOT launch without it

I have always liked the look of this game and waited for the reported bugs to be fixed. All I have to say about this game is it is great and I found not issues in four hours of play would highly recommend and to see it grow.

I don't feel any compulsion at all to play an abandoned game. Why invest in an experience that will never be finished? I loved the environments and thoughts behind it, but with all of the other survival crafting experiences, I'd rather invest in them since they are complete. Maybe I'll come back around to Nightingale someday to see what has been put into it, but not today.

I won’t be playing Nightingale again until the 1.0 release, but that is not because I dislike the game. I’ve already put nearly 200 hours into it, and I genuinely think there is something special here. Nightingale has one of the most unique settings I’ve seen in a survival crafting game. The Victorian fantasy style, Realm system, creatures, exploration, crafting, and base building all give it an identity that feels different from most games in the genre. I especially enjoyed progressing through new realms, gathering materials, improving my gear, and slowly building up an estate that actually felt like home. The building system is one of my favorite parts, and there is a lot of room to be creative. I also enjoyed having reasons to explore for materials, recipes, upgrades, and better equipment. The crafting and progression systems have a lot of potential, and I had plenty of fun experimenting with different weapons and gear. My biggest criticism is that the world can feel empty at times.
