Space Legends: At the Edge of the Universe

Yet another boring point and click puzzle game on my account that I don't remember ever buying.

You end up on with your damaged spaceship on a probably uninhabited planet, and while you deal with various crises such as the injury of your partner, you also have many puzzles and hidden object searches. Actually I would say too many, and the hidden object parts frequently require manipulating the objects to make something happen. The many puzzles are of types frequently encountered in these adventures, and they often seem to be superfluous and unrelated to the action. To me the game seemed very long: just as we were about to leave the planet in the now spaceworthy ship, there was a diversion to another planet and captivity in a dungeon. So is this a space adventure, or something else? I must add that the rough English translation leaves something to be desired. So all in all, I would recommend mainly to the most enthusiastic hidden-object enthusiasts and caution others.

For what's here this is actually alright. The plot is a little disjointed and takes some...interesting...turns, and leaves too much to the imagination, but as a means of presenting interesting puzzles it does the job. You ping around clusters of static areas looking at things, finding keys and solving fullscreen mini-game puzzles, and occasionally you get a Hidden Object hunt to find a list of items among the chaos of a busy screen full of them. These are quite good, with some items requiring a couple of steps to complete them, complete with little animations. You need a Dartboard with a hole in it? Find the steel shot, load it into yon musket and boom - dartboard has a hole! These can be quite relaxing, no time limits, no pressure, just you and your eyeballs. The full-screen puzzles vary between fun and omg-why-is-this-even-here, but you can skip every one of them. Top tip: use the Scroll/Map to save yourself some time. It highlights in red where you need to go next and insta-travels you there too.
