Puffin Planes

I almost never write Steam reviews. I have never written a Steam guide before. Puffin Planes somehow convinced me to do both. If you enjoy airline, transport, tycoon or management games where figuring out how all the systems interact is half the fun, this game is an absolute gem. It looks deceptively simple at first. Buy some planes, open some routes, move passengers around and make money. Easy, right? Not remotely. Before long you're managing hubs, connecting passengers, aircraft capacity, seating classes, fares, passenger loyalty, on-time performance, airport congestion, operating rights, concourses, maintenance, aircraft age, policies, contracts, reputation, manufacturers, production queues, codeshares, competitors and the stock market. And somehow it all fits together. What I particularly like is that Puffin Planes lets you make mistakes. Lots of them. You can expand too quickly, buy the wrong aircraft, create terrible connections, overload a hub, price a route badly or discover that the brilliant strategy you just invented is actually a highly efficient way of setting money on fire. Then you figure out why, fix it, and suddenly the airline starts working. …

This is a delightful little game, that I've spent my Sunday playing. It's wonderfully satisfying to set up your routes, optimise the planes, get some new ones in and be obsessional about your route planning. It kept my occupied for at least 8 hours or so and maybe will longer. The problem that other people have run into - is true. This feels like a bit unfinished as a game and needs a bit unpolished, and the gameplay gets a bit stuck. Like you run into the reality that the real world airlines are experiencing right now - huge, long order books that will take many years for your planes to arrive. You're competing for order slots. Until then, your growth is constrained. What this game needs also is a bit of randomness, and the economic cycle. It needs airlines to go bust, shut down, restart, order books to clear out, consolidation, debt, buying out your competitors, while trying not to overstretch youself. At £9.99 I think this was fair value for the amount of time I spent on it. I hope to see some updates if they come and some more development. But even if I don't I think I'll come back to this when it feels right.

This game has become so fun! When I first purchased the game last year, I didn't like it at all. Now, it's one of my current favorites! My favorite part of the game is the customization and immersion. I actually feel like I'm competing against rival airlines and have various ways to distinguish my airline without it becoming too complicated. My least favorite part of the game involves the airport mechanics and how the aircraft don't resemble real-world models. All of hubs queues get impossibly full, impacting my whole network. The only way I've found to moderately relieve this is to add flights on competitors' under-served routes. Overall, I love how this game is continuing to improve and I highly recommend purchasing today- did I mention what a great value this is?!

This game remind me of Aerobiz Supersonic, which wwas a really nice game on snes.

W game. Time well spent. If you're wondering if you should buy this game do it. Its fun it has a lot of management and strategy involved. If you're struggling watch a tutorial. Even though its only small creators and seniac its still fun to learn. Def easier then learning hoi4. A part from that awesome i like being an airline managing as the ceo how to survive, buyout, and managing airports and aircraft manufacters. 8.7/10 Good me like. hehe

There is a game-breaking bug which abruptly pauses the game and requires a restart to continue. In a game with thousands of flights, there should be a way to toggle off all of the moving parts which I am assuming is what is causing it to break.
