✦ AI summary

Rift of the NecroDancer is praised for its charming art, fun gameplay mechanics that blend rhythm gaming with unique combat patterns, and entertaining story mode that keeps players engaged. However, players consistently criticize the limited base song library, expensive DLC that quickly inflates the total cost, and reliance on custom workshop tracks that are often inconsistent in quality. Most players recommend it as a casual side rhythm game rather than a main one, and suggest waiting for a sale rather than purchasing at full price.

This is a masterpiece! Super fun with amazing art, minigames, so much more! It's really charming and highly addictive so I recommend this! Plus, the story mode was really entertaining! The only thing I'd have to say is, if you don't play much rhythm games, I highly suggest staying away from impossible mode...

Honestly I wanted to love this game. I played the demo and loved it and bought the full game on release and had a lot of fun with it. The gameplay is really cool, the concept of fighting the notes and the interesting patterns of the them can be a real breath of fresh air. But at the end of the day it just isn't worth the price. $20 for the base game is acceptable but if you want any of their cross over events it gets expensive FAST. To get all the DLC at the time of writing this you are looking at spending <$80. This... isn't an $80 game. Could I pick and choose which products to get yes. But there are painfully few songs that get released for "free" on this $20 game. The straw that broke the camels back for me was the Season 2 release with new (non cross over) songs from the design team. This should have been free. I can understand cross overs requiring payment for licensing and the like, but the original songs for the game should be included in the base game. Not letting them be included in the base game just feels greedy. Lastly the story was... fine I guess. The minigames are kinda boring tbh and the story isn't that interesting. With the release of volume 2 you'd expect…

There just arent enough tracks in the game. Even while owning some of the DLC, You pretty much HAVE to rely on custom tracks, which are very hit or miss (mainly miss) - If you have other rythm games and this is just a side one you toy with, thats great, I reccomend it, but for the average person looking for a rythm game to play consistently? your better off looking elsewhere, though I do still think its a good game, its just very limited - Theres also the issue of custom tracks seeming like a major afterthought, they dont auto-play the music like in the main menu, which, if the tracks are downloaded shouldnt be hard to make possible, and your Profile/Avatar does nothing - Only 3 profiles seem to actually let you play as them, despite them all seemingly having the art needed to play with them.
