So it is a spiderweb software game. You know what that is if you are here, if not it is a game made by a dude, his wife, and a handful of people who get contracted on occasion, it will be a very classical style of computer RPG, and the writing will have a particular flavor to it, a love more of talking about the world itself and the relationship those individuals have to the world/political situation at large. This game hits all of those notes but tragically experimented in a way that was not the best received. This game is not pretty, even by Spiderweb standards because the design is meant to quickly and accurately communicate the state of the battlefield, it is a wonderfully set up map, if you are judging it as more of a tabletop RPG encounter, this is built for you to look at the field, know everything and make sure you can learn what all the pieces on the board do so that you can have a handful of short but vicious fights on that map, achieve what you went there to do, and move on to the next thing you need to do, the next decision you need to make. Great game! It does a lot of things different than most CRPGs I've played, but I think the swings it takes in gameplay pay off for the most part. Even with how simple the graphics are, there's a lot of experience here, knowing how to make easily usable and readable UIs with enjoyable world and dungeon maps, even with just basic tiles. Really liked the story and how it explored how the banality of evil can seep into any culture. It also only took around 50 hours, which is brisk for this genre. Gets a thumbs up from me.

Very well done with challenging fiights.

Very little signposting, very little in the way of tactics. Most dialogue choices are different flavors of 'yes'. I came in wanting to like it, and I'm just not sure I do.

Great stuff if you like story-driven RPGs and don't mind 90s-style graphics.
