✦ AI summary

Nocturnal is a short platformer hack-and-slash with an engaging world, creative mechanics, and beautiful art that players find fun to play through in a few hours. The story, while not deep, provides enough intrigue to keep players invested, and the progression system with abilities and passives delivers satisfying character development. Players generally recommend it as a worthwhile experience, though some note the price point should be considered given the brevity of the campaign.

Good game with an interesting world and story, and engaging gameplay and combat. It's a short game, just a few hours I'd say, but it's a fun playthrough. I clocked 6 hours, but the extra time is a combination of occasional AFK for life stuff and a bit of backtracking or investigation when none was actually needed. I died a couple times, but the game was not difficult. Acquiring new abilities and passives from the skill tree was fun and definitely helped scratch that progression itch. Ultimately you can get everything in the tree, so pick whatever you like and don't worry about missing out. The story wasn't deep or expansive by any means, and it's mostly told through only short cutscenes and interactions, but it started with just enough to get me caring about what's happening, and then maintained my interest by steadily revealing nuggets of info that introduced intrigue and subsequently revealed answers. Graphics were beautiful and the music was quite good. I loved the incorporation of fire in both the gameplay and worldbuilding, as well as its relevance to the light/dark illumination aspects of the game. On the topic of my gameolay time and backtracking/exploring: note that thi…
Just saying, but I do have a curator page. If you like my remarks about games, you can find more of them here: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44130985-TDP%27s-Gaming-Escapades
As a reviewer, I try my best to look at a game from a consumer's point of view. What I mean is that... when it comes to reviewing a game that you have acquired for free through a giveaway or a review copy, it's easy to forget that others are supposed to buy that product with their hard-earned money and take that into account. So, I believe it's only fair to look at a game as if you had bought it yourself, no matter its method of acquisition. If Nocturnal was a free game or was cheap, I would have told people to give it a shot if they were interested in it. But this game is actually a commercial product that is being normally sold for 17 USD, and yet still feels like a proof-of-concept demonstration when it comes to its length and gameplay. It does have some qualities but it's hard for me to tell people to buy it, simply because of how it feels like as a whole. The story is Nocturnal is pretty linear and fairly simple. The game puts you in the boots of Ardeshir, a soldier who r…

Ill start by saying that this game genre isnt really my cup of tea and im just playing to try out new genre and all. So,ill first talk about its story,I think its pretty original, maybe thats true or maybe i just havent played anything of similar story. Morever, the mechanics in this game is quite creative in a sense i suppose, i mean fire on a sword isnt but it just fits the overall gameplay, and i like how the game slowly introduces the other more complicated mechanics while you are progressing through the story rather than just throwing all the information at you at the start like most games tbh, As for the sound,im not too sure how they made the soundtracks and sound effects and all but they sound pretty fresh and clean, i really like the ambient noise from this game though as it makes me more immersed in the game itself. Could probably have more variety of the vase breaking sound but eh it works, since breaking vases isnt the main part of the game and its just wasting resources and budget,so that part I understand pretty well. And im not sure if it was intentional or not but i like how when you go up or down, they like load in a part of the entire game rather than one who…

Game is short and can be completed in few hours, the art-style is good and the story and theme is decent. I tried the game without any spoilers regarding story and gameplay and i loved the experience. This is a must try platformer game!
