Buck Up And Drive!

The game is cool, but it gets boring quickly. The controls are clunky, and the option with the LGBT flags is the most useless thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t want to see them in the game, but the game doesn’t give me that choice.

It's always nice to see a game inspired by Out Run, especially when it's as fanbloodytastic as this game is! Being able to drift and do hurricane spins is a neat addition. There's also a nice variety of different looking areas, it keeps the game looking fresh. I really enjoyed unlocking all the achievements in this game, a few of them are some of the hardest achievements I've ever personally unlocked! My only real complaint is that there's not enough music, but that can easily be solved by playing your own music in the background with the in game volume turned down. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel!! I give this game two thumbs up and a nod of approval. A delightful arcadey experience.

Pros: - custom car decals and billboards - feels like Outrun on steroids - Some clever level designs - feels like an authentic arcade experience Cons: - other levels are really dumb ideas (I wish I could disable the 'Abs of God' and 'Early Access' ones, who thought those were good ideas?) Overall great to blast some synthwave too. (and yes, eurobeat!)

Drift a lot, then do it again

Some really neat ideas, but ultimately feels like less than the sum of its engine parts. The comparisons to OutRun make sense, that seems to be one of Buck Up's main design goals, but the result is, to me, pretty far behind the pack and is a long way from being able to catch-up with OutRun. The driving is very simple, and not very engaging. I feel like I just go forwards hitting the boosts until eventually I don't anymore. Very little thrill, despite all the visuals trying to make it feel to the contrary. I feel like a big iteration on this could be more compelling, but there's not much calling me back as it stands.
