EXIT - The Curse of Ophir is a digital escape room adventure where you investigate the disappearance of a writer at a cursed hotel in the Wichita Mountains, solving layered puzzles and uncovering mysterious secrets that span centuries. This single-player experience stands out with its atmospheric hand-drawn graphics, voiced storytelling, and innovative puzzle design that blurs the line between app and physical world.
Famous writer Tory Harlane has disappeared without a trace and you've been hired to find him! He was last seen at the Hotel Ophir, deep in the Wichita Mountains of Oklahoma, researching alleged haunted houses. There are many rumors about this remote place: rumors of a supposed city of gold, of unexplained phenomena, and also of a curse. And then there is this eerie comet in the sky, the appearance of which has sent a shiver down your spine – and not only yours.
When you arrive at the Hotel Ophir, you quickly realize that something is not quite right here – and this place literally won't let you go.
Go in search of the missing man, investigate the hotel for clues, discover mysterious relics, solve puzzles and unravel the mysteries of the Ophir that go far back in time. Can you solve the disappearance of Tory Harlene and escape from the hotel?

EXIT - The Curse of Ophir features escape room puzzles with an interesting concept and some creative fourth-wall breaking moments, but many players struggle with obtuse puzzle clues that feel poorly explained or incompletely translated, making solutions frustratingly opaque. While the game has its fans and offers decent production values, the inconsistent puzzle clarity and somewhat thin story mean players recommend trying it on sale rather than at full price, particularly if you enjoy escape room games and don't mind ambiguous puzzle design.

A half of clues seem to be lost in translation or are entirely missing. Like, I feel like I need one of those youtubers who explains poorly made math problems to explain how you get from A to Z, but you are missing half the steps.1 found this helpful
Good concept and could be great puzzles but puzzle clues require reading the developers' minds - very obtuse.
This game did not do it for me. It is not a bad game and it reminded me of "Trace Memory/Another code" in regards to its fourth wall breaking puzzles. At least the few that existed. The rest is a mix of the logic puzzles, item puzzles and hidden object puzzles. One definitely notices that the game was designed for mobile devices and inspired by board games. It looks fine and play well enough but the story is nothing to write home about and it feels empty in places. Not really recommended. But if you want to get an escape room game that is a bit different try it. At least while it is on sale. Score: 5/9
Good stuff. Not as good as the other EXIT videogame, but still very much worthy of your time.
