Escape Room - Der kranke Kollege

This was my first escape room game, and boy did it suck. Not sure if it was this game specifically, or this genre in general. Guess I will have to try another escape room game to find out. Anyways... the game is very linear. You have to do everything in a specific order. When you solve a puzzle, it unlocks the ability to solve the next puzzle. However, I did not think anything really made any sense. The puzzles all seemed randomly thrown together, and I just stumbled from puzzle to puzzle. Storywise, nothing seemed to connect them. The controls seemed clunky. Half of the time when I clicked to use an item in my hand, I would end up dropping it or throwing it. Walking is very slow. Also, the graphics are crappy. They have that cheap blocky look to them. There are supposed to be 2 rooms, but the first one has been disabled since January of 2022 due to copyright issues. Apparently, the dev just digitalized a real escape room, and when the real owners found out, they were not too happy about him ripping off their puzzles. Of course, the dev does not believe he ripped off somebody else's hard work. He just calls what he did"[i]a fan remake[/i]". To the dev's credit tho…

Very crazy twist! Love the story. The puzzles.... well, they're hit or miss. It's much more fun using the hints just so you know approximately what to use to solve the puzzles. Some of these puzzles are satisfying, others, not so much (very confusing solve, even when you have the answer).

Honestly, this was way more fun than I had hoped for a free escape room game. I'm currently trying to get some of the people around me to play too. I just bought the DLC, and I'm excited to try it!

The first room was a bit too easy but the second room was incredible, very nice and not frustrating at all. Definetly recommend playing with a friend
