Liar's Dice (2024)

Even tho it still needs some time to cook, the idea behind is fun, playing dice against the devil, a simple odds game. Visually appealing with some old tone to it. Gameplay wise I believe I didn't get a full experience because I couldn't understand how to use items or where to find them exacly, this is something the tutorial could have for a better understanding of the game. Great Concept and can tell that its being worked on will regular patches. I see the vision

TL;DR: If you're buying this thing, it's for some neat ambience to accompany a good 5-7 rounds of classic liar's dice. Full Review: Upon reading the other reviews, most of these issues may have just been bad luck with my experience. Still, I'm going to say what I think. The base game itself is literally just one round of liar's dice against a cpu. That's it. If you've never played before (like me), it's pretty fun the first few times, but it doesn't take long to break. The music and ambience is pretty sick, but the cpu is quite predictable. Wager 3 or more of the same dice and 9 times out of 10, he'll crack and call you a liar. Figured him out within a couple of rounds, and he never improved. I had literally never heard of the game before playing this, and within less than an hour, I had unbridled confidence against every opponent I faced with this knowledge. Outside of the base game, there's a short rougelite mode where you play 5-6 consecutive rounds with some items sprinkled into the mix. ...this mode was rather broken on my playthrough. For me personally, I really enjoy the concept of the game. you have to know when to Lie and when to play it safe. For me I was able to beat the devil first try without much problem. With that I would love to see the developer make an effort to somehow increase the difficulty or add different harder bosses. AS for the tutorial I found it went by a little quick and didn't fully understand the game, but after 2 or so rounds of actual game play I was able to understand everything perfectly. So again I would recommend for the tutorial maybe do like 3 dice each and the user can experience game play right away. Overall I would love to see a little but more difficulty and game play. As currently I believe that is it very easy to beat and does not need much effort. If the difficulty and more game play (like bosses and people to play against) I could see myself putting hours on end into this game. Something for the developer I would love to maybe see a skill tree, where after beating a boss I can choose between rewards that can help me with later on in the game

I wasnt sure going into Liars Dice if it was the style of game that I enjoy. I primarily play competitive ranked games where I a perform at a level not many can match. But this was a breath of fresh air. Something I could play along my long queue times in high elo and was thrilling to say the least. I highly recommend Liars Dice to all audiences!
