Pro Wrestler Story

This is a wonderful game. Any wrestling fan should give this a try. The music is excellent and the game progression is marvelous. I went into this game thinking okay and came away being blown away by everything this game does. Wrestling is awesome and so is Pro Wrestler Story, The game feels so unique and the custom side is everything. I really don't see many drawbacks at all for the experience so far. Keep in mind that early on you will find yourself "waiting" for the best results which is life like. You don't succeed over night and this game shows that. You'll eventually find results. Upgrades, challenges, additions, building your team, recruiting talents. A pro wrestler story unlike any other. As a wrestling fan for such 30 years this brings me so much joy. If you decide to get the game Id be happy to help you find your way through but i would imagine the experience varies from person to person.

Kairosoft games are hit or miss for people and some may resonate with a particular theme more than others. The core underlying logic is broadly similar between all of them. I have played my fair share of Kairosoft games and had somewhat low expectations coming into this one but I was delighted to be proven wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing this game. It is still not as good as some of my favourite Kairosoft games like Game Dev Story, Doraemon Dorayaki Story or the often maligned Silver Screen Story but Pro Wrestler Story does a pretty good job. These are simple games often better suited for mobile gaming so depth isnt really to be expected in a Kairosoft game. Despite the simplicity I found myself spending 15+ hours enjoying the fighting and making incremental stat improvements to my wrestlers. All in all I say it is one of the better games in the Kairosoft catalogue and I give it a 7.5/10.

I WOULD recommend if you can get this on sale, this is a simple time killer, if you enjoy wrestling and enjoy Kairosoft sport games, this will be very similar. However, the coding for Tag Team, 3v3, is about as monkey code as it gets. You will watch your strongest wrestler tag in your weakest wrestler who has 0 hp and you will watch your opponents enter the ring and stop your pin but you cant do anything. Its so out of your control, monkey coded and thoughtless at times it can get a frustrating. Alot of decisions seem thrown in without testing, entire female team have very manly names, referee vanishes from screen. And sadly the flow for a 2 star gym, is literally no different for a 4 star gym, you may think there is more to see, but really there isnt. This game for its current presentation feels lazily made, lazily coded, and frankly given up on. As such ive asked for a refund on another Kairosoft game I recently purchased, Im 20min in and I wont bother. Im moving on from Kairosoft games, its almost like an AI is cranking this crap out now.

Pretty fun 'wrestling manager' type game. IMO, this is one of the better Kairosoft games in their offerings. Vs others that I've played, the pace seems pretty decent, there isn't that much pop up spam, and it doesn't seem designed to drag things out to sell anything extra. Your wrestlers can be pretty stupid sometimes but rematches are easy, if you keep on top of training, you'll do well enough. I also like the fact that you can turn off the goofy masks (the masks add stats) in the settings, so you're not just a bunch of animal heads fighting each other. It seems a lot of these negative reviews are people who probably expected more, which is a valid complaint but that's not the 'Kairosoft' game formula. They just don't do a huge amount of depth nor a whole lot of customization. It's all about making numbers go up for your character and sometimes a bit of very basic 'base building' with 'pre packaged facilities'. This company has a particular style/formula for all of their games, you either like it or don't. My biggest complaint is that it's not entirely clear with some of the things to get/do in the game.
